I'd actually be tempted to . . . hmmm . . . actually, I should write this idea up as a proposal for Benito, and if it gets implemented, all Talossa can learn if it's a good idea from there.
As far as no one willing to do boring-only jobs, I'm going to note that there's not much interesting about the duties of Burgermeister of Inland Revenue (count money, write reports, mail things), or Electoral Commission member (verifying vote counts), or being Arvitieir Prima in Benito (trying to herd the provincial legislature into existing). But the point in general is true.

Registration fees (which are $10 US) are most conveniently sent via PayPal to stamps@kingdomoftalossa.net . However, we will do our best to work with you if you wish to use some other method.
Please include a statement of what party you are registering.
If there is no post on Wittenberg (usually in this thread) acknowledging your fee has been paid within 24 hours of you sending it, send email to me at pertgonest@kingdomoftalossa.net to remind me. If that address for some reason doesn't get an acknowledgment within 24 hours of sending to it, there is another email address in my profile here, send to that one, or yell at me through any other means you may have available (including on this thread).

The Cunstavál would like to gently remind the Túischac'h that, per the Standing Orders, approved bills and constitutional amendments are supposed to be submitted by the Túischac'h to the Cunstavál for promulgation. I understand many Fiôvâns have an ideological dislike of involving the crown, but it is in the Standing Orders. Perhaps tag me in the posts in the [FINAL VOTE] threads declaring them passed?

Um, I'm hoping that "request for the appropriation of funds from the Royal Treasury totaling ℓ1,080 ($1,620 USD)" is a cut-and-paste from last time?
Your actual totals request below is for $392.30, which is 261¤32.

I'm pretty sure there are ways to map certain characters to certain keys using your computer's settings. I know this, but it was convenient how pre-2007 Talossan used only characters in the standard Windows/Latin international keyboard set-up. (No coincidence, of course, that that would have been very convenient for the computer-knowhow-challenged KR1.) To be fair, even people with extensive computer know-how would have had difficulty using characters outside of a single 8-bit ISO/IEC character set back before UTF-8 finally won the war for "default" Unicode encoding. Latin-1 was particularly convenient in that that the Windows "US International" keyboard was designed to produce it, but of the available ISO/IEC 8859 standards in the mid-1990s, Latin-1 would have been the most logical choice for Talossan on grounds of linguistic affinity anyway (the most Romance languages being covered by Latin-1).

Oh, there are lots of local variances from country to country as to requirements to practice law. But an LL.B. is still the "standard" degree in the sense of "usual" (as opposed to "required", which does vary) outside North America. (And in North America, Canadian universities still called their legal degree an LL.B. until after the turn of the millennium, even though they'd swapped to postgrad-only study of law rather earlier.)

lolwut. Where did this Justice earn his J.D.? Wherever would he have learned to make such maneuvers? I just— this is a parody, right? He's a lawyer in India, they don't have JDs. I don't know their equivalent is. It's being dealt with. The degree for a lawyer established in the common law world in the 19th Century was the LL.B ( Legum Baccalaureus, or Bachelor of Laws); outside of the US and Canada (and to a growing extent Australia), that's still the standard legal degree. (In the US and Canada, the transition from LL.B. to J.D. was largely a matter of simply renaming the degree conferred.)

[...]I hope, Danihel, yours will arrive soon too. Here's proof that it can happen. I'll be go to the market -- I had given up all hopes so I ordered some more last night; today, to my surprise, the first batch arrived in its entirety. It only took 16.5 weeks to cross the Texan border. I haven't sent your new order yet. Do you still want them, or to cancel your order?

I haven’t actually seen what our coins look like so this is exciting! Really? Well, he posted images of his coin, but here's the pic up on the coin ordering page: And, also on that site, so you can compare the size to other coins I had on hand: (Starting at the upper left and going clockwise, a Mexican 10-peso, a US half-dollar, a Canadian $2, a British two pence, a US $1, and a two Euro.)

I'm seeing one Witt vote with no corresponding Witt vote thread entry, and marked invalid one incorrectly-entered Witt vote (on Referendum 5).

For any appointment from the Court, it is generally the CJ's prerogative to assign. Thus it should have been : "For a member of the Cort, I would like to have one who is the most present". Whereby the request is made, as well as the requirement stated. If you ignore the actual text of the relevant statute for the Electoral Commission, usefully quoted earlier in this thread, sure, you could make that erroneous assumption.
