I also vote in favor if it's not too late. Congratulations! Vote count is now 9-0, with one outstanding, that being Iason Taiwos's own vote.

Okay, then, I present the question to the Assembly: Does Iason Bitxichë Taiwos have the confidence of this house for the post of Maestro? Each member of the Assembly, cast your vote(s).

I grew up in Cajun country. Our coffee has chicory in it. Will that be forbidden under these purity laws? As Cunstavál of Fiôvâ, I note that if chicory coffee is in fact outlawed by Fiôvâ, Benito could of course pass its own law defending chicory coffee. But only, I note as Arvitieir Prima of Benito, if the members of Benito's Assembly manage to elect a Maestro, freeing up that body to take up new business.

So, do we have any other nominees? I'll throw this open more generally to any member of the Assembly to propose.

Okay. If you run into someone willing to take it later on, it'll still be available for your party to assign, since you won it.

Another reminder to RUMP and the FreeDems leadership that they each have a Benito legislative assembly seat to assign. If they fail to do so, we will go ahead with the election of a Maestro anyway. Viteu Marcianüs , Sir C. M. Siervicül .

So, will the registration fees for ROOTS and PAW be refunded? Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm guessing this is a decision for the Burgermeister of Inland Revenue? Or do I have to decide? Or someone else? The Cosa/incoming government by means of the next budget? The Burgermeister of Inland Revenue, upon receiving a direct request for a refund in the case of either or both parties, will discuss it with the incoming government, in particular with the Finance Minister and Attorney General.

The raw results of the provincial assembly elections for Benito are as follows: IASON TAIWOS 1 MRPT 7 FREEDEMS 1 NEW PECULIAR WAY 1 PRESENT 1 RUMP 1 NPW 1 My initial rulings as Arvitieir Prima are that, a) following the precedent that votes for a leader of a given party should be counted as votes for that party for purpose of party allocation, and the party affiliation of Iason Taiwos, the IASON TAIWOS vote is a vote for the New Peculiar Way; b) the NPW vote is a vote for the New Peculiar Way; and c) per precedent, PRESENT votes are not counted in apportionment. Given that, the regularized vote total is: Moderate Radicals, 7 New Peculiar Way, 3 Free Democrats, 1 RUMP, 1 Not counted, 1 Which using Hare-Niemeyer translates into: Quota = 12 (votes) / 11 (seats) = 1.09090909... Party Calculation Seats Moderate Radicals 7/(12/11) = 6 seats, 0.41666... remainder (6) New Peculiar Way 3/(12/11) = 2 seats, 0.75 remainder (2) Free Democrats 1/(12/11) = 0 seats, 0.91666... remainder (0) RUMP 1/(12/11) = 0 seats, 0.91666... remainder (0) 8 integer seats, largest remainder Free Democrats (+1 seat, 1) 9 seats assigned, largest remainder RUMP (+1 seat, 1) 10 seats assigned, largest remainder New Peculiar Way (+1 seat, 3) 11 seats assigned. So, the final seat count is: Moderate Radicals 6 seats. New Peculiar Way 3 seats. Free Democrats 1 seat. RUMP 1 seat. So, Viteu Marcianüs , Ian Plätschisch , Sir C. M. Siervicül , and Vitxalmour Conductour and/or Iason Bitxichë Taiwos , allocate your party's seats or delegate allocations to a Benitan. (I note for the record that counting the IASON TAIWOS vote as a separate party works out to 2 seats for the NPW and one for Iason Taiwos. If the vote for IASON TAIWOS is thrown out as a PRESENT-equivalent, the result would be each party getting a number of seats equal to its number of votes, 7 MRPT, 2 NPW, 1 FreeDems, 1 RUMP.)

Pre-registering a confusingly-similar name or initials is already banned, so a Senate candidate trying to fake an endorsement through such an act is already blocked.
In principle, somebody could indeed pre-register a party explicitly in order to get a Senate endorsement listed to try to increase their chances of being elected to the Senate. I'm not actually sure that I'd see that as constituting a genuine problem. Parties brought into existence specifically to advance the candidacy of one person to one office have any number of precedents in the US, at least.
(If somebody tried to actually flood the ballot with a long list of such parties, then we might have a problem. Were I the SoS in such a case I'd tell the flooder I'm judging all of them past the first not to be bona fide pre-registrations of parties, whatever their technical format, and he can file in court if he wants to argue they were actual good-faith pre-registrations of genuine parties.)
