May I ask why professional printing has not been considered? Surely an inquiry into costs would not be too much trouble.

Well a watermark is made when the paper is made, so that's out. As for micro-text, I say we just print high-def and hope for the best. The security features are really easily changed. The ben glyph I called a watermark just because it is so faint, but if a high def printer can print it clearly (same with the micro-text) we don't have to have a watermark. The way the colors play off each other makes it hard enough to get exactly similar. This was what I had in mind: This was what I had in mind: ℓ 5- green bill, 120x62mm ℓ 10- purple bill, 127x67mm ℓ 20- blue bill (navy), 133x72mm ℓ 50- orange bill, 140x77mm ℓ 100- red bill (more saturated, between a blood red and maroon), 147x82mm ℓ 200- grey bill, 153x82mm ℓ 500- teal, 160x82mm The counterfeiting is just going to be an issue we have to deal with. We can't afford complexities to deter counterfeiting. But honestly, it's not like everyone and their brother is going to want Louise all of a sudden. It's not going to be a very dominant world currency for a long time. Also, I must ask, does 'issuing large amounts' mean issuing large denominations or large numbers of bills? "Bank" in Talossan is banqeu, not banque. Just pointing it out, so we don't print bills with typos. Yeah, I just read the translator wrong since bank in French is Banque. Same with the " Es Banque" on the sample ℓ 5. Both are now fixed.

We did look into printing professional bills (paper and ink) and it was quite expensive. It costs more than the coins would ... I don't remember the specifics. If you are going to print them on a home printer ... that is what my Cub Scout Cash (a merit system) does... I don't think that reflects well of Talossa.

I'm experimenting with some low cost coin solutions (I'm an amateur Jeweler). So, do we have any paper aficionados? Maybe there is a middle ground between professional minting and home printer?

If we can find double-sided printing that is good quality on some sort of special paper, then that's pretty good. I hope we can go down that avenue. I will fit some new back designs for the backs around the new sizes.
I will get an engraved .psd of the king to you, but it really aint flattering and I seriously advise against using it.
Seriously.

I'm experimenting with pewter coins....
If I can get a decent cast formed, I see no reason why I can't just make a whole bunch of coins for virtually nothing...

I wouldn't have thought! I am too. I love using silver clay- I'm making a pendant with Old English runes on it and a matching ring with the stuff, it's awesome. That's easy enough and it's cool because it's all hand made.

what about the backs? all of these are great images but I wonder what the reverse will look like.

I think S:r Grischun said he'd work on the backs.

Would you mind telling which companies you looked into? Maybe a money-raising thing as was done for the BEER project could be done here. E This plugin looks like it could do good guilloché'd photo effects. Maybe something like that could be used for the King's head.

It certainly beats the GIMP filter, but I'll keep using that filter for now as I don't have photoshop.
But, as I said, there is no way we should use my version of the King's head, so I suggest we use that.
By the way, is S:r Grischun happy that every denomination will require a different sized hologram?

That's a nice idea! However, I'd put a different person on the front of each banknote.

The different person will go on the back, except there aren't really enough people to go on, so some notes will have people on, others will have a landmark on.
