The oak thing is a good idea. The province is home to Oakland Gyros and the first ever Talossafest was held on Oakland avenue.

For what its worth, I still like Cjovana. How about Cjartzara? Wouldn't that literally be "Oakland"? (Also a place name in Pittsburgh, so it would even have a local connection for me.) (I dunno, I just think the "Cj" is cool. Favorite vehicle I ever owned was a Jeep CJ.)

Or we could combine oak + coast and make Cjarcosta. The <cj> digraph is pretty cool in terms of digraphs.

Then we get the river and the oak forest all in one word.

Okay, I like Cjarcosta. (Forgive me, just being silly now, as I am wont to do...anyway could we combine Cjovan and Cjara somehow?) (There is a "Lynx Avenue" in Milwaukee, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be in Benito Proper.) If we get around to redesigning our flag, we could have a lynx wielding an oaken bedpost on it. Cjarvana?!Cjarvanacosta?

Yeah, but oaks, forests, and parks actually directly relate to the geography of our province.

We can always reserve cjarvana as a nickname or something for a since "cjar" (oak) is still in the name, even though it means lynx.

It'd make a great sports team- The Cjarcosta Cjarvanas. Oak-river-bank Lynxes.

Or use it as a canton name, since we have two of those.

I still think you should go with the full form of Benito: Benedetto. That way you don't lose the allusions to "Ben" and "Mussolini", but you don’t celebrate them either. It will also delight the CeR.

I like it, (not completely phonoaesthetically pleasant for my hear)... The name, where it comes from and the meaning. More natural and "real" than personal names... Cjarcosta!

I think many of us do want to lose the allusions to Ben and Mussolini, however.

If anything, we can maintain Talossan spelling but Italianze our pronunciation due to the "historical influx of Italians in our province" so its "CHAR-cost-uh" unstead of "KYAR-cost-uh".

All the talk of woods reminds me that Ataturk lies all along Edgewood Avenue, the northern border of Talossa. For decades, "Edgewood and the River" has summed up the territorial boundaries of Talossa (Cézembre and Pengopäts excepted). We now have a River province, why not an Edgewood province? Edgewood has a dictionary entry, by the way (Selva da Grentza).

I hope it will not be taken amiss, for a new citizen to jump feet first into the re-naming discussion...but, oh well! here I go anyway!
I agree that Cjarcosta sounds beautiful and I like the associations with the natural surroundings. I have to admit that I am not entirely clear on the whole "Italian" association thing, but I don't expect anyone to go into the long, sordid history of it for my benefit.
(I must also assert that naming the province "Benedetto" in order to maintain the connection with Mussolini would *not* delight the CeR! We are not supporters of evil dictators. Only of benevolent ones.
