Dude, it's a comment on the job not on your character. The Secretary of State is a public official and it's right for us to consider what the right amount of scrutiny required for the role without you crying murder and threatening legal action. Doesn't sound like a comment about the job, but rather about the character...

I'm sorry you're offended, esteemed SoS, and I wish I had chosen my words with greater care. But they are fair comment and thus not libellous. Your comment was libelous While I doubt that the esteemed SoS will get anywhere in Court, I wish some people would remember that Talossa is supposed to be fun as well. The manner in which some of us address the SoS is such that I would flatly refuse to do his job, were I offered it. And I'm not just pointing at Senator Schivâ here.

I did send reminders to vote during the election to all who didn't vote. The last one was 3 days ago... Were there previous reminders? Three days ago was in the middle of a holiday weekend, and may have been too late to be useful for some voters. I was traveling all weekend, and I'm sure I wasn't alone.

Turnout was pretty disappointing again. I really thought we would improve on last time, but we didn't. It looks like final turnout (as a percentage of eligible voters) is probably a fraction of a percent higher than last time, when you account for the facts that returned ballots include one from someone who is not an eligible voter (Cresti Newton, who voted "present") and that the list of citizens who did not vote includes two people who renounced their citizenship and therefore also are not registered voters (Ross and Wordon). I have officially marked (this includes the 2 who resigned) 207 citizens as having the right to vote. In the 46th election, the King pardoned all of those who didn't vote, but perhaps the problem wasn't that widespread with the ballots. After all, we had 104 citizens voting in the last election and 114 this time around (with possibly new citizens who became citizens during the 46th Cosa). This leaves me with 2 possibilities: 1 ) I still do not have the proper email addresses to reach some of these people, but that would mean that none of them bothered to check in with use since the 45th Cosa election of March-April 2013 2 ) A lot of citizens simply no longer want to be Talossan. I am not placing a judgement, but isn't possible that many of the inactive citizens have moved on? Let's make a check. This is the list of the people who didn't vote: www.talossa.ca/files/notvoted.phpCan you tell me if there are any of them who should have voted but didn't? Can we focus on trying to reach these people in the next few months to check if: 1 ) We have the proper email to reach them? 2 ) They will want to be Talossan?

If I recall correctly, after the last election you planned to conduct a test run of the Chancery email system to iron out problems before the next election, but unfortunately we got caught short by the VoC failure causing the election to come early. But maybe we could do that early in the cycle this time. Also if the Ziu passes a census law this term, that could serve much the same purpose. I believe so. I believe I sent 2 reminders after the initial ballots. There might be a problem with the email system then, because I only got one reminder after the initial ballot.

In the republic the turnout used to be much better, but we relied on sending reminders to voters who hadn't voted. Reminders are ESSENTIAL. I can assure you that MULTIPLE reminders were sent out.

Azul,
I think Talossa is a place where you need to follow the news one time or another. Anybody who make 1 visite to the witt during the last month should I have see the debat on the election and ask himself if he have vote or not...
It's take a little of effort to make Talossa work.
Thank you for your work Mr SoS.
Long live to Talossa democracy. Not perfect but anyway better years after years.
