Some of my constituents have been in touch and have expressed concerns; I'm sure you've noticed I'm no longer a representative of the entirety of Talossa, but of Fiova. Such concerns ought to be raised if I'm to give an adequate political voice to citizens of Fiova in my role as its Senator. I don't intend to oppose the reform, but some consideration ought to be given to these concerns, in my view. I'm sure you understand.

However, I would also point out that fiddling with this kind of thing is an absolutely great way to create the illusion of change, and the illusion of activity, without actually having to do anything substantial. Move the catchment 1 state over.... then move is back during the next Cosa. Pretty ingenious. Is this was the Mod-Rads were doing as opposed to carrying out their portfolios in the last government? Woah, nice uncalled for personal attack there. And a pretty ignorant one, given that we passed some pretty substantial stuff over the last term and in the Cosas before that. But surely, it's the MRPT who is still sore about the last coalition, right. Why all the venom, by the way? No one is targeting you or anyone else, and most of your assumptions, like this one are even blatantly false. You are making it look like we're shoving this bill down the Provinces' throats, while until yesterday there was virtually zero objection to this bill. But all we want is merely to fix our broken catchment areas in a way that makes sense, compromising between everyone's needs. I do personally understand. So basically, we ought to have all provinces bar Cézembre share a bit of US+Canada and a bit of the rest of the world. Hm. How are the other cosponsors feeling on this particular point? Geographical continuity would be mostly lost, but we can make it so each province has more or less two big contiguous catchment areas. That would work for me.

How would that be different from the current situation? Geographical continuity for me was the main point of this bill.

How would that be different from the current situation? Geographical continuity for me was the main point of this bill. Without geographical continuity, what is the point of this bill? We will probably want to revisit how existing citizens are assigned. It might be necessary to do something like requiring citizens to be assigned to the provinces they live in, after some form of a grace period. We might also set up a sort of tribunal to allow for the hearing of possible exemptions to this. I don't know - just thoughts off the top of my head.

Fiova was never an overseas territory for Talossa; what continuity is there if it is to be characterised as such now?

But surely, it's the MRPT who is still sore about the last coalition, right. Why all the venom, by the way? There's nothing personal in this, believe me. I am an expert at personal abuse, and this definitely ain't it. And it is excessively tiring to have folks squeal "personal attack" when their records are questioned. I have no affiliation with the last coalition, I just know what I saw in both government and the last campaign. Lots of finger-pointing about do-nothing... and now here's a make-work half-measure. If this is your approach, you're never going to succeed in fixing anything. And that is a big point. As Dr. Nordselva pointed out, catchment reform isn't going to work if people are left in their current provinces despite a need to move. If you think this is the right thing to do, then stand on the courage of your convictions and propose the changes you feel are necessary.

I am really tempted to Clark this bill in its current form. Will probably do so before Friday.

OK, I'm not really happy with smearing Fiovâ over half the world, it should be doable to keep Fiovâ together, but I appreciate the difficulty in stitching this together. I am leaning towards voting Për on this one in its current form.

This is all little more than a particularly unfortunate and sloppy fart in the stained underpants of Talossa.

I echo S'reu Conductour's sentiment, if not his phrasing. While I applaud our Senators work and effort put into crafting this bill, I can not support the results. Should it pass, we Ohio Benitians will choose to remain Benitians, but we will be a small Benitian outpost in a Vuodean frontier. And I wonder, should not the provinces themselves have some say in how the catchment areas are divvied up? We have put a lot of effort into developing an Ohio Benitian culture, and I hate to see it get flushed down the Vuode

I think it's more like Talossa finally changing its dirty underpants. (And buying some toiletpaper.)

I think it's more like Talossa finally changing its dirty underpants. (And buying some toiletpaper.) A little of both. It would have been a great idea 25 years ago, but things have gotten muddled enough that this KIND of fix is no longer possible and something either of a more major legislative or philosophical shakeup is now necessary (or both). But I got here really late and I've been told that means I ignored it and should keep my mouth shut. Such is the way in Mussolini province.

I don't have any bad feelings towards you for raising these concerns and I really wasn't trying to leave behind a bad smell.
