I agree. I'm sure there's room for improvement, but I don't know what further tweaks to propose besides what you suggested, and it'll be much better than the current system.

Tweaked to reflect suggestions, and also Vatican City and San Marino, surrounded by Benitian Italy, have been incorporated into Benito's catchment area (formerly implicitly Cézembrean as "European nations not mentioned elsewhere").

I like the new catchment areas - they make more sense. I'd like to be added as a sponsor please.

So, since I forgot to write it two times in a row, I am planning to submit this bill in next month's Clark.

uhm... why does Vuode in this reform have no catchment areas in the world?

Because we've been trying to achieve geographical contiguity, where possible. This means that (rough categories are from a US perspective): - Atatürk has most of New England and eastern Canada, plus a large area in Central Asia, ex Soviet Union and Africa. (mixed province) - Benito has Southern Europe, the Balkans and Northern and Western Africa (overseas province) - Cézembre has Northern Europe (overseas province) - Florencia has western Canada and northwestern US (mainland province) - Fiova has eastern Asia and an horizontal strip of ocean separated land: southern Africa, Brazil and Oceania (overseas province) - Maricopa has western US, Central America and Spanish South America (mixed province) - M-M has southern US and the Caribbeans (mostly mainland province) - Vuode has the rest of New England and the Midwest (mainland province)

uhm... why does Vuode in this reform have no catchment areas in the world? Because the basic idea is to make catchment areas more contiguous, moving away from the "little bit here, little bit there" fragmentation of what the map had evolved into. For the most part, you have Western Hemisphere catchment areas and Eastern Hemisphere catchment areas.

Florencia has a huge catchment area, which might well be ceded in part to Vuode, in North America, as well as in the world.

Florencia has a huge catchment area, which might well be ceded in part to Vuode, in North America, as well as in the world. You have to think more about population base than physical size. Alaska and Saskatchewan aren't a good trade for New York and Pennsylvania, despite being bigger on the map. EDIT: I think Vuode is somewhat underrepresented on this map, but I don't think Florencia is overrepresented. I posted tables of recent immigrants per catchment area a while ago, and I'll try to update them soon.

Not that my opinion matters much, nor do I have a vote, but I'm not sure I can get on board with this one. In the past, the maps were divided into three major "batches," for lack of a better term.
Wisconsin The US The World
And each of these batches had their catchment areas. This move seems like it is trying to turn catchment areas into the provinces themselves with contiguous Maricopa, Vuode, etc. In all honesty, don't we have better things to do that screw around with the borders? What is actually gained through this legislation?

I also note that there is no catchment area in the world for Maritiimi-Maxhestic, or at least minimally. As Senator to Maritiimi-Maxhestic, I cannot support this proposal unless it is fair to all provinces.
