As for preferred Fiôvân sports, are we talking about spectator sports or real live sweating? Spectatorwise, this LaCrosse stuff might be interesting.

I'm thinking in terms of actually taking part.

We seem unable to reach a consensus, and I maintain that our best option with regards to taking part is badminton. ;D

Pass! Is billiards considered a sport?

As for the latter, I saw that on a sports channel on TV once upon the time, so that makes it a sport, doesn't it? I watched carambolage and eight-ball pool billiard as well.
(And in my late teens I used to be quite good at carambolage for some time.)

sport - an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others
game- a form of play or sport, esp. a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength or luck.
That's how it's defined on Google. So, according to that, I would say that billiards is a game, not a sport. I don't think billiards involves physical exertion and that's coming from someone who enjoys playing billiards.

Hofmann, Schorndorf 1992. (abstract: It's not that simple, Dav.)

Well played, Deet. I'm not against billiards. I like billiards. I just wasn't sure if people would call it a sport or a game.

Apparently it depends. According to one Wikipedia article that I read, organized competition is part of the nature of sports. So playing soccer with friends, on a hot summer day in a park or such, might be but a game or simply fun, while soccer tournaments in a league are sports - just like competitive chess. I guess longwinded debates may ensue this attempt of a distinction.
