Hey everyone! I have a scoop on dirt from Miestra's private life! I have it from good authority that there is dirt in her bedroom... Behind her bedside table, there is some dust that wasn't properly vaccummed the last time she cleaned it! HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY KNOW THAT?!?! UNLESS... YOU'RE A SORCEROR!!! It's an ability passed down from previous Secretaries of State. Once I finally get off my ciol and mail him the Talisman official SoS stamp, he'll become more powerful than you can imagine.

Gluc, I think she's just referring to Luc specifically, who I guess sent her some of our private conversation about negotiation. So she didn't mean you.
Really, it's okay. I know what she thinks, and the abuse doesn't bother me. And I know better than to believe conspiracy tales! Thank you, anyway.

You reject well-meaning advice as abuse, you isolate yourself from Talossa's political future. A word to the wise.

That would be highly dishonest to you. I only briefly summarised her the topics of the conversation just as I did with my fellow party members and I assure you that the core of our conversation is still private. I don't want more leaks and I will not have any part in a TalossaLeaks 2.0.

I didn't notice last night that you'd deleted the post - I just moved on to other threads. I understand you might not have wanted to get in the middle of things, and wouldn't have put you in that position if I'd noticed. I was obviously just happy to hear that there was no some secret gathering of people that were all being nice to my face while talking about how much they disliked me behind my back. I try to be forthright and honest, even if I also try to be the best advocate for my voters that I can be.

I only briefly summarised her the topics of the conversation just as I did with my fellow party members I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that Sir Alexandreu shared some key points from those discussions with the RUMP membership as well. It is apparent that someone has not been entirely forthcoming regarding the MRPT leadership's receptiveness to a coalition with the RUMP. Who is responsible for the misrepresentation, I can't say.

Ok this looks like it is going to be a VERY long process as only 9 votes have been partially validated! This system may need to be fixed somehow for the future. 24 hours later, same 9 partially validated votes. Where is the electoral commission? I'd have already been done with my share by now if I'd been on the commission. Even if each commissioner spent 20-30 minutes per day validating, they might get the work done faster. It is utterly ridiculous that the election ended almost a full seven days ago and STILL the same 9 ballots have been validated. I am losing confidence in this system.

Well, since I'm the leader of an opposing party, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd groused, "That darn conservative!" (or something rather differently phrased! ) or whatever. That's just normal and healthy for a vigorous democracy like our own!

For my part, though, I haven't done anything more than very roughly summarize the state of negotiations when discussing with my party, after they were over and when we agreed to consult with our parties. But either you or Miestra is mistaken, since she seems to be suggesting that these private discussions were leaked. Example: But the arrogance of the RUMP leadership faction whom I refer to as the "Beagle Boys" is shown by the communications they've sent to other party leaders - not me, of course, but leaked by patriotic citizens. But I'm inclined to believe you. So is Miestra massaging the truth here and elsewhere in order to make it appear that she has certain knowledge that I am personally a villain who no one would think of working with, through the "leaks" of "patriotic citizens?" No, I think we should assume that the above was just poorly phrased, which can happen when you're heatedly comparing them to a mass-murderer Seriously, folks, we can disagree strongly with people while still respecting the sincerity of their beliefs, and without accusing them of being power-mad monsters. I can honestly say I think that every prominent politician has the best interests of Talossa in mind when they represent their voters, and we should respect that even when we disagree with them - perhaps especially when we disagree with them!

Last time we had the same thing, and it no longer looks like a fluke, but a systemic problem. The secret ballot makes it more difficult to verify votes, but I know we can make it work. I actually consider it absolutely vital that we make it work... we want to be sure of a legitimate Cosa that starts in a timely fashion. We could just work on moving the CpI along, but I fear that the same thing will happen - people will join it and then get bored by their ivory tower. There are solutions - opening it up to politics, creating more work so they are forced to stay involved - but I'm not very happy with any of them right now. We need more ideas.

I will try to at least do my own part shortly, I was busy preparing for the filming of my first short movie planned for yesterday, but if you check my post in The Chat Room about the clip for Montreal, you'll see it didn't turn out as planned :-(

Just an idea - merge the UC and the Magistracy (would give us 6 judges instead of 3) and create a rotating appeals court/uppermost court of sorts among the 6 judges so that no one has to sit solely on the UC. While the judge sits on the rotating appeals panel, they would not be in the Cosa but as soon as they ended their term, they can resume their role there. Possibly allow judges on the appeals panel to assign their seat to someone who would then have to give it back once their time on the panel ended.
