Esteemed Secretary of State Marti-Pair Furxheir S.H., I don't want you for one second to think that I'm being rude or impolite here, and I'd like you to note how incredibly grateful I am for the work you've put in here, so thanks for that. However, is my understanding that these votes still require the commission to validate them correct, and if so how long can we expect the process to take? Further, when I suggested that the commission start prior to the end of the election so as to save time, why did you reject the suggestion?

Procedure to validate the vote for the members of the electoral commission. 1 ) Login to the Database at talossa.ca. You can login with your user number and password or via your Facebook login. I can help you login 2 ) Go to : www.talossa.ca/files/election_result.phpYou will now see all of the ballots, with a 4 color code: 1 ) Green: Ballot cast on Wittenberg and thus, public 2 ) Yellow: Private ballot in which the voter elected to vote publicly 3 ) Red: Secret ballot 4 ) Blue: Ballots you have personally validated Let's review the columns. #: The citizen number. You can click to open in a new tab to view the citizen Name: The public name of the citizen. Province: the province of the citizen the number columns: this is the status of the members of the EC. I am #101. Validation: this column gives you 2 buttons: Valid or Invalid. This is how you validate. Method: The method is how the vote was made. - PSC: the person voted with the automated form WITHOUT the interaction of the SoS. These votes are valid per se since they were done by the citizen himself or herself. - witt: the person voted in the Wittenberg thread. These are very important to validate as I might have made an error - mail: The person voted by email. You can view the emails at: www.talossa.ca/files/email.php in the tab "Inbound". Please note it takes almost 2 minutes for the page to load - db: The person voted after login in to the DB. There was only one vote this way. Ip Address: This is the IP address of the person who filled the form. It's my IP when it's the Witt or Mail method, and the voter's IP when it's PSC.. Browser: lists the browser. Might be useful if you see duplicate IPs User: If there was a logged in user in the Database, that user will be there. Mostly, it's my username when I entered the vote. Date/Time entered: when the vote was inserted. the Witt post or mail message might be up to 2 days earlier. Vote: the party in question. Prefixed by Secret: when it is a secret vote 46RZ12: the referendum vote Senate Vote: it's the vote for the Senate Provincial Vote: vote for the province. For the witt votes, you need to go thru the Witt thread and validate the vote. I made a typo on 1 referendum vote which I didn't fix to make sure you catch the error, to keep on your toes... For the mail votes, you need to go thru the chancery email as listed above and check For the PSC votes, there isn't much to confirm. Make sure the IP is unique maybe? For the DB vote, I am not sure what to do. Here is a breakdown of the methods used to vote: db: 1 psc: 68 witt: 33 mail: 12

Thanks again for all the work you do, but I'd really like to understand your decision not to start the validation process earlier.

Ok this looks like it is going to be a VERY long process as only 9 votes have been partially validated! This system may need to be fixed somehow for the future.

I will propose and amendment to make it a verification process and not a validation process. The difference is simple: the validation process implies wrongdoing and puts the country on hold until completed. The verification process on the other hand implies that SoS did his best, wasn't corrupt, and that as such, the results are valid. BUT, to make sure, we will check over his shoulders to keep him in check. If there are errors, they can be corrected anyway.

Thanks again for all the work you do, but I'd really like to understand your decision not to start the validation process earlier. :) But that's the problem... during the election, I had to follow up on citizens who had problems voting, I have to fix the senate endorsements, etc... During an election, I manage the election, and it's rather a busy time.

It should not be very difficult for you, I reckon, to grant to the other members of the commission access to your database, regardless of what you are doing.
