WHEREAS the CeR campaigned on promoting, first and foremost, the kingship of Christ in all Kingdom activities
WHEREAS we'd be a pretty pathetic party if we didn't have a go at this
WHEREAS the acknowledgement of the Kingship of Christ strengthens the civil rights of all Talossans, Christians and otherwise WHEREAS if I didn't propose such a thing, Miestra would be severely disappointed and demand our raspberry berets back
THEREFORE be it resolved by the Ziu of the Kingdom of Talossa that the following amendment to Organic Law be recommended to the citizenry for ratification:
Section 1 of Article III of Organic Law ("King") be amended to add the following first sentence: The eternal and everlasting King of Talossa is Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

You know this amendment conflicts with the covenants of rights and freedoms, (at least with nr 3) which means that would have to be amended as well.

"The government shall not restrict the free exercise of religion or conscience in worship or conduct, nor shall any preference be given by the Cosâ to any religious establishment. Religious services and rituals not in conflict with law or public order are authorized."
Let's look at this.
"The government shall not restrict the free exercise of religion or conscience in worship or conduct," - This bill does not restrict the free exercise of religion. It merely says that Jesus will be King. One can still be free to exercise another religion even if Jesus is King.
"nor shall any preference be given by the Cosâ to any religious establishment. "
Well, this bill does not call for a preference to any "religous establishment", rather a "religous figure".
I see this as an Organic bill.
and I agree with mister 199. This is going to be a fun Cosa.

Wait wait wait. You must be kidding. First: we already have a king don't we? Second: since when is it okay to promote a doubtfully existing entity to be a king? If Jesus Christ becomes a "king" in Talossa, it would mean I have to serve him. And I cannot do that. I can serve our existing king, and i cannot do the same in this case. If Jesus one day gets any role/power here, it will force me to leave. Hope that does not happen.

I'm going to vote CONTRA, I think. I'm a Catholic and a good Christian, but I think Talossa must be without a predominant religion.

Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, suffered enough in his time on this earth without having to be King of Talossa as well. CONTRÂ.

1. I think they realize this would be struct down as inorganic if it ever actually was passed, so they seek to amend the Organic Law.
2. I like to believe that even a religious man like King John will see the lunacy in such an amendment.
3. Talossa is a secular democracy and should stay a secular democracy.
4. Some song to demonstrate (just a note: we have a bit of a problem in the US with religion in politics. I felt this song was appropriate even if out of context)
5. I will not only vote Contra, I will scream it at the top of my lungs from the center of the chamber so that no man, woman, or child will not know my vote.

As Eddie suggests, this doesn't breach the Covenant of Rights and Freedom by my reading - appointing a fellow King doesn't preference a religion. I'll be voting PER
