Really people, what the hell is the big deal? Talossa is *not* politics. Talossa is a nation with many interests. What is wrong with trying to make Talossa more three dimensional? The only person talking about taking politics out of Talossa is Miestra. Not every topics needs to become political. Not every topic needs to devolve into a massive political debate. I would not come here and post a piece of legislation; I would post it in the Hopper. That is not limiting freedom of speech; that is keeping things clean. That is not trying to deny anyone access to the political process.

We have these different boards to keep things organized. If Miestra is going to get all hyperbolic and ask to establish an absolute monarchy with no political life, then I'm going to ask, what the hell is the point in any of these boards and why not delete them all and have one Wittenberg? Legislation, coat of arms, cort, provincial discussions, chat room - one board. I mean, anything else would be denying people access to freedom of speech and the political process.

I think Miestra's points were made with a significant amount of civility, actually, so I think it would be improper for you to mis-characterise events. If you truly weren't trolling, that's cool, but there's no need to bite quite so viciously.

I think the implication was more to do with it benefiting RUMP more than benefiting monarchists as a whole. It's not a party political point at all, there are many other monarchist alternatives to the RUMP. S:reu Davinescu mentioned earlier that it's a system likely to benefit the incumbent more than anyone else.

I see your point and somewhat agree, however, the main board is not intended for 'general discussions' or 'general fun threads'. It is a catch-all board for Talossan business that does not fit else where. The reason the Chat Room threads do not show up in the '50 latest posts' is for those Talossans, such as myself, who log in to check up on 'Talossn business' and have zero interest in seeing a picture of cat. I check the chat room once or twice a week, but, check Witt daily. It was agreed by general consensus (oooh circa 2009) that the Chat Room was not for threads that were too hot for public viewing, but, to filter out the non-Talossan stuff from the 50 latest list. It is only by happenstance that the Chat Room has became the default location for moving threads to when deemed not fit for public consumption.

No. I think Miestra is actually right. Keep Witt as it is, keep the chat room as it is, and install a new private board for the hot threads..thunderdome, sin-bin, coffeehouse, what-have-you.

(I would support the Chat Room being public...however, the reason we voted against it being public, I think, is because it's impossible to make it public while keeping it off the 50 latest)

I believe that is because you are "logged in" as a member of the Talossa Pro-boards account.

If you were just a visitor, you wouldn't be able to see it.
