The voting will run for one week. I vote for S:reu Lundescu, and hope that he is elected.

I vote for Daviu also. And that creates a majority even without the rest of thr assemblymen voting. Congratulations Daviu!

I vote for Alex Davis, seeing it would be unethical to vote for myself.

I motion to instate Davíu Lundescu as the Grand General Secretary as majority of the votes have been cast in favor, even though the one week is not over. Let's get to work on the important stuff now!

The motion passes and S:reu Lundescu is GGS. Congratulations!
I have a new motion. I move that we request the new GGS petition the Chancery to conduct the next election on our behalf. This is a safety move I believe we should continue to keep customary each term, while we work out any other possible plans. If there is no objection?

After seeing my miserable failure with the elections, I mick Alexandreu's motion.

Let me repeat: this is something we do every term (we did it last term as well!) and is in no way a condemnation of the last election's process or the M3. It is simply so that we have a fallback procedure in place if we cannot agree on the next election.

Great. With that sorted, I would suggest we turn to the main line of inquiry, already begun in this thread. I'll quote my questions for the M3, whom we pleasantly find is already present! M3, you recommend asking the Chancery to remind citizens and link them to the provincial ballot. The immediate question is, then: why not simply have the Chancery collect the votes? Presumably the SoS did not have special updated email addresses, so the issue must be that the national ballot has more importance and prestige to Maritiimi-Maxhestians than their local ballot (which is strange, but perhaps true). It was wonderful to be our usual groundbreaking selves and be the first to unshackle our election, but maybe it's just not worth it at this stage, and we can chalk it up to a learning experience. Let me add to this to say that I am not prejudiced one way or the other - I truly don't know what we should do, and we're just fact-finding. What is the M3's opinion: try again or return to shackling?

I say stay unshackled. We have six months to get an internal accurate contact list.

Is it your opinion that this was the main problem? Weren't we using the same list as the Chancery?

We were... but I'd be totally ok calling people to get their votes if needed. And since it was first time, we could gain more publicity before the next election.

Okay. Hm. I'm not sure we should cold-call people for their votes, but your devotion is earnestly appreciated by your province!
I move that S:reu Biondeu be re-appointed M3 for another term. We can all work together to implement his suggestions - update contact lists and increase publicity - but I don't think there's any reason to believe he fell short in the performance of his duty.
Is there any objection?
