I, E. D. Ursüm hereby announce my candidacy for the upcoming Atatürk Senäts election.
I have served Atatürk as a Member of the House of Commons for several sessions, having played a major part in drafting our current constitution. I am keenly aware of the experiences and occasional frustrations of the average Atatürkey in engaging with local politics.
However, there is only so much influence a senator can have on provincial matters. In the national Ziu, I would aim to accomplish much of the ZRT manifesto, as well as encouraging the flourishing of the province of Atatürk. This means supporting movements towards transparency and democracy and opposing actions against the same, as well as being a keen defender of the needs of this province on the national level. I am currently a very punctual member of the Cosa, never missing votes on the Clark.
I have competence in the national language, el glhetg Talossan, and support the preservation of those cultural quirks which make Talossa Talossan.
Please consider voting for E. D. Ursüm in the upcoming election.

A personal friend of mine, I can vouch for S:reu Ursüm as being a man of exceptional integrity and someone who will put everything he can into doing a fantastic job. I've known Eoin for MANY years, and I've always known him to be honest, competent, well-spoken and just an all-round good-guy. So if that's the kind of person you want representing you in the Senate, then please consider voting for E. D. Ursüm in the 2013 March election.

I offer my support for your candidacy. I hope you become our senator. I wish you luck. It will be nice if we get a ZRT senator

Eoin would be a great addition to the Senate regardless of whether he was a ZRTer!

A policy broadcast from the Ursüm campaign
The issue of citizenship requirements is bound to be a hot-button topic in the next session of the Ziu. I thought I should let potential voters know where I stand.
I am not averse to returning to a stricter system, with more rigorous identification requirements as well as a neutral civics test. However, I believe such changes should be made with the utmost care and caution, with thought to the implications such changes would have on immigration patterns and so on.
Oaths of citizenship have recently become a topic of controversy. As I have made clear, I don't view the monarchial nature of the oath as a divisive test or filter: it is simply an acknowledgement of the current setup we have here, and an agreement to abide by that setup as long as it is present. However, I am favourable towards plans to make the oath more general and inclusive. As for its complete abolishment, no: I believe we should have something like an oath as final confirmation of a prospective's desire to pursue citizenship.
In other news, Ataturk's Parishes: let's name them.

Sounds good. More on a provincial note. I know that you dont have much juristiction in the province as a senator but what would you help to change in ataturk within your senatorial powers?

Sounds good. More on a provincial note. I know that you dont have much juristiction in the province as a senator but what would you help to change in ataturk within your senatorial powers? If national laws altering the governance or arrangement of the provinces came before the floor of the Senate, I would consult with the people of Ataturk over the proposed changes. In line with ZRT policy, I support direct democracy for Ataturk. In addition, if the people of Ataturk come up with good ideas which could possibly be implemented nationwide, I would try to act as a channel for those ideas. I'm not going to exaggerate the role of an individual member of the Senate, but I believe that, in practical matters, I could have a positive influence as our senator.

I also support that idea of direct democracy. However i feel that here in ataturk it wont make much of a diffrence in provincial activity due to lack of motivation. Hence my current proposal to our house of commons to change our voting for provincial members of the commons. And i hope you do have a positive influence uf you are successful.

I don't believe Senator Holmes supports the ZRT manifesto. ;D I'd like to think that I am more amenable to ambitious changes which would improve Talossa, while the Senate RUMP contingent tends to be more reactionary in regard to such things.

Ahh fair point. In what ways do you feel Talossa needs to change? Here are some steps that I would encourage our nation to take, some more ambitious than others: - Secret ballot
- Direct democracy for the provinces
- Allowing for the deposition of the monarch by popular initiative
- Publicizing Talossa on Reddit and micronation forums
- Fostering more of a Talossan identity among Talossans via more physical artifacts, knowledge of language and of history
- Repeal of illiberal (and arguably inOrganic) laws such as the What's The Difference Act
