All very good and noble goals. I wish you luck. How do you think your time in the Ziu and the House of Commons here has prepared you for the offive of senator?

In line with ZRT policy, I support direct democracy for Ataturk. I don't believe Senator Holmes supports the ZRT manifesto. ;D I'd like to think that I am more amenable to ambitious changes which would improve Talossa, while the Senate RUMP contingent tends to be more reactionary in regard to such things. So you believe that Senators should be active in party politics and be tools of the parties, actively supporting their platforms? There has been much debate in the last several months about the roles of Senators in party politics. Specifically the endorsement of Senate candidates by political parties. Please state your intentions: Will you blindly follow and advance ZRT platform policies? What will guide your vote more: ZRT platforms or Atatürk's best interests? To avoid any accusations, in the past I, myself, have publicly espoused the RUMP platform as Senator. For some time now, while exercising my Senate seat, I have not blindly voted for RUMP legislation or towed the party line, having crossed it on occaision.

I have no problem with senators being active in party politics, or supporting a particular platform. However, I don't think this makes them a "political tool". Senators are not threatened with deselection by party leaders as MCs are, and this allows them to vote without fear of pressure or coercion.
Because the term of a senator is longer than that of an MC, and because they are directly elected by their constituents, I actually think it is better if a candidate outlines specific policies they would like to strive to achieve during their term, be they from a party platform or not.
I believe that ZRT policies are in Ataturk's best interest, but I would not "follow them blindly" if elected. A senator has the additional responsibility to look out for the province's constituents, and I would make sure to check every piece of legislation that comes before me as to whether it helps or hinders Ataturkeys in participating optimally in Talossan life.
