Actually, I think we are discussing a issue that does not need to be legislated.
There is no need to post the information on these boards.
Talossan Statute 35RZ22
Clause 2. The Minister of Immigration shall ascertain to his own satisfaction, through correspondence or conversation, that the prospective immigrant is a real human being with genuine interest in becoming a citizen of the Kingdom of Talossa. The Minister shall be free to inquire of the applicant on any and every subject, and shall be required to collect the name, postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address(es) of the candidate, which information the Minister shall communicate to the Secretary of State.
No where in that Statue does it say the information needs to be posted or shared with the rest of the Kingdom.
Article XVIII: Citizenship and Rights
Section 12. All appropriate information of all Talossan prospectives who have been brought before the Uppermost Cort, all former citizens, as well as all former citizens who are applying for restoration of their Talossan citizenship shall be public knowledge. This shall be a duty of the Minister of Immigration.
While Senator Davis is correct, this Section refers to certain instances. Specifically, those that wish to have their citizenship restored .
I'm not seeing anywhere (yet) that requires a prospective citizen's personal information to be made available publicly. I believe it has just been tradition, not law.

Who day and night must scramble for a living, feed the wife and children, say his daily prayers and who has the right as master of the house, to have the final word at home?

I must disagree with your reading of the section. If you re-read it, it says that all appropriate information (reasonably interpreted as name and location at the least), of "all Talossa prospective citizens," and then goes on to say " as well as" those reapplying for citizenship restoration. It seems entirely clear-cut to me that the MinImm is organically mandated to make this information available.

Pardon me, I have not been reading Immigration threads recently (or the first post at least). The ImmMin has begun removing the town and state and such from the requests, which, when laced with the name, could provide such a circumstance as the bill attempts to aviod. However, I will be content with how the new immigration requests are set up, with just a name and no location information. I find it disheartening that we are an internet based nation, but have no policy to avoid internet based exploitation.

I must disagree , Senator Davis.
The section in question refers to the following people:
"prospectives who have been brought before the Uppermost Cort, all former citizens, as well as all former citizens who are applying for restoration of their Talossan citizenship shall be public knowledge"
A prospective citizen , in my opinion, meets none of theabove criterea.

The ImmMin has begun removing the town and state and such from the requests, which, when laced with the name, could provide such a circumstance as the bill attempts to aviod. I've been complaining for a long time about the Ministry of Immigration not providing any location information about prospectives to the citizens. We obviously don't want to publicise street addresses, but I think the public has a right to know what state (or country, if outside the U.S.) a prospective citizen lives in. I do think it's a good idea to provide for updating immigration threads to contain a new citizen's Talossan name if he or she chooses to adopt a Talossan name, and possibly even to provide a mechanism for tentatively adopting a Talossan name prior to public introduction on Witt.

I must agree with Sir Cresti. If we have nothing else, we should at least have a home state/country!

It's varied from thread to thread - something to standardise! Apologies!
I would say with a previous (failed) applicant, we did change the thread name and so forth to protect her identity. This idea is not without basis in history.
I have however expressed my concerns on a few levels, including the issues mentioned - that people shouldn't be worried about it and that one's name on the Net is a fact of life.

After reading the section a couple more times, MC Preston, I have to concede. Hm, sorry about that.
As to the bill itself, I think that this would continue the unfortunate trend of Talossa into an internet nation, which I emphatically feel it is not. If you join Talossa, you should join publicly with your real name, and some rudiments of information should be made available to citizens about you as you join. If we want to put it into a subforum that isn't publicly accessible, that is fine with me (and probably does not require a statute), but that information should be there for us. I want to know your name, your age, and where you are from if you intend to immigrate to Talossa.

No problem I've had to read that document many, many times to do one of my jobs here.
And I agree with your sentiments after that.

I want to know your name, your age, and where you are from if you intend to immigrate to Talossa. I agree! That's one reason you don't get to just pick a Talossan name. Because a Talossan name isn't just a name for a Talossan character or persona you are creating to "play Talossa," it's a translation of your non-Talossan name. It's you. And to help people keep things straight, the non-Talossan equivalents of Talossan names are listed in a subforum that isn't publicly accessible, just as you suggest: the names subforum of the glhetg forum. It's only viewable by registered users of Witt, so Google can't find it. I agree that ages and locations (short of exact addresses) should also be available to all citizens.
