The Google It Act
WHEREAS measures were taken to make Talossa's prominence in Google searches better, and
WHEREAS immigration threads reveal some personal information of prospective immigrants, and
WHEREAS if you google the said immigrant's name you will get a hit for Witt, and
WHEREAS many people do not like this personal information being so readily availiable, and
WHEREAS there are creepy people in the world that may want to take this personal information and exploit it in various ways, and
WHEREAS this kind of action is bad and not condoned by the Kingdom of Talossa,
THEREFORE we proclaim that: 1. Prospective Immigrants are allowed to carry a Talossan name during their probationary stay for use on Witt and for renaming their immigration thread.
2. Upon becoming a citizen, a new citizen has the choice to have their immigration thread deleated or sufficiently archived as so the personal information is not availiable to others.
3. Upon becoming a citizen, a new citizen has the choice to have the first post by the Immigration Minister deleated or minimized as so this personal information is not availiable.
4. Both prospective and naturalised citizens alike are told on Witt by the Immigration Minster of these rights, should they feel the above causes nessicary.

Can we rename this act to "
"My God, We Are Paranoid Act" ?
Problems I see:
It's going to make it impossible for the SoS to determine what Province new Citizens will be assigned to.
Have you looked at the current Immigration threads? I can barely figure out what to call them as it is, and I have no clue to where they live. Unless I get a Ouija Board with every prospective citizen if this act is passed, you've made it incredibly difficult for the SoS to do part of his job.

Capt. Preston, Please note that this does not prohibit the gathering of such information by the Kingdom. This bill would make you work more closely with the Immigration Ministry, but the purpose of this bill is to prevent the slightest possibility that something may happen.
To many instances have occured where people have been exploited online, and this could be a weakness in Talossa. It would be awful to see something happen.
It is a chance, but if we thwart the chance before something could happen, then the law has proven worthwhile.
To clarify- personal information will be collected as it is now and stored, but not posted on Witt. The first name of a prospective will be Talossafied in their immigration thread (which takes literally less than a minute). This may prove benificial since it will start a process of assimilation with the prospective.
I find that the benifits of this bill, namely citizen safety and a feeling of being welcomed, are of utmost importance.
No, I am not paranoid, I just want to insure the safety of our citizens. It would be unfortunate if something would happen, we need to thwart the chance before something could happen.

Ok, but I still think we are being a bit paranoid.

(psst..... ya need to spell check it)
When the SoS grants the Writ of Citizenship, what name does he use for the new Citizen? The given name, or the Talossan name?
What part9s) did you change?
I would also recommend that you talk to the Board Administrators to see what functions are available to them. they may not be able to provide some of the functions you request.

I meant the post above yours, not the bill itself. Thanks for the spell check tip...I'm the world's worst. I love the deleate key. What functions will they not be able to provide??

That's what you need to find out!
For example:
Can they do this?

Yes.
For 2- take screenshots of the pages if you need them or back them up to a hard drive. For 3- take the first post and remove the text

Here's an idea...the immigration minister gathers the necessary data but doesn't post all of the personal information.
I see the point of this bill. If I google "Timothy Olivieri" I will find the post introducing me on Witt. Now, that means that anyone who googles my name now knows I participate on Witt. However, unless they can get my phone number or address this way, I really don't care.
People can find me because I wrote reviews on Amazon.com too.
We can't over complicate the immigration procedure, it will gunk up the works.

You need to address those two ideas with the Board Admins, Matáiwos .
And I have to agree with Capt. Tim.

I suppose what I'm saying is that if you don't want your name appearing on the internet, perhaps posting on internet message boards isn't the best idea in the first place.

This bill is entirely inorganic.
"All appropriate information of all Talossan prospectives who have been brought before the Uppermost Cort, all former citizens, as well as all former citizens who are applying for restoration of their Talossan citizenship shall be public knowledge. This shall be a duty of the Minister of Immigration." XVIII.12
Being a citizen is a public thing. That should not change.

But what one person deems appropriate might be totally inappropriate by another.

It is just like a loan application Flip.
Disclosure of personal information is optional.
But credit will not be extended without it.
Providing personal information to become a citizen is optional, but without doing it, you aren't getting in. We all did it with no complaint. At least we aren't like some (like the Republic) that wants photocopies of drivers licenses.
