Aw, hell. Sorry, first time I've tried mailing something like this. I thought the "taped between two bits of cardboard" would keep them from being identified as coins, but there's of course the risk of mechanical damage and loss anyway. Obviously my envelopes weren't up-to-snuff. I think we should, frankly, send you free replacements, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to decide that unilaterally. (Since we got more coins than we ordered, we've got a margin for replacing lost ones.)

Well, that almost proves to me that they were stolen by the postal service - There WAS NO bits of cardboard in the envelope. Just an empty sleeve with sellotape holding it closed, but with one side torn and flappy. Looks like the envelope was opened and the cardboard taken out along with the coins then resealed and sent out empty. Anything resembling a birthday card or the like is ripe for this kind of thing. It's not a huge deal and it wasn't a huge sum of money. I don't mind ordering some more, but could I ask you to send via a courier that requires a signature on arrival? Something like UPS or FedEx? I'll meet the cost of any superfluous packing or postage.

Yes, certainly, I'll arrange something that requires signature service. Grrrrrr.

(Since we got more coins than we ordered, we've got a margin for replacing lost ones.) It works for me, especially since we have extras. Technically speaking, the RB&P was only authorized to mint 300 coins per 50RZ12, not 333, so if we wanted to be sticklers for making these decisions we'd also have to figure out what to do with the "unauthorized" 33.

It saddens me to report that one of the first five coins was lost in the mail today. I received the envelope which was ripped on one end. The four coins I ordered arrived safely, but the fifth coin, which had its own little cardboard backing, was not in its cardboard backing. I'll call the post office, but it's probably lost at a distribution center. As this was a special coin per authorization, I'm not seeking replacement (particularly when I got the four I paid for), but I thought I should let the nation know. Of course, this could be a good thing, some postal worker might find the coin, look it up, and find us as a result! But here is a picture of the coins I did receive, alongside a 5 Valora from the Republic of Molossia that I picked up at MicroCon (click for larger view):

My envelop also was damaged - but (luckily) I received all the coins.
Stronger envelopes, perhaps - even if we (the customers) have to pay more postage?

...which is a one-third discount from the face value at the official exchange rate...." Where does one find current information about the exchange rates and value of Talossan currency?

So fast! I wish i already had it (probably the fact that I'm in Russia slows the process slightly...)
