Hmmm. I'm Attorney-General, Max. If you could convince me that your suit is in the public interest, I'd take it on for free. That said: the Cort is already considering another challenge to the King, so you might be waiting a while.
I assume you want relief from the King failing to dissolve the Cosâ on time; what kind of relief? What order would you like the Cort to make? I would not want an order bringing forward the election, because (a) there would not be enough time in 9 days to get a hearing to start the election early anyway; (b) the King should, I feel, not be able to get rid of the consequences of his own error.

I'm ready to pay for your service. Members of the Royal Talossan Bar are expressly forbidden to charge and/or accept any fee or charge for their services. However, should the lawyer have to pay any case related out of pocket expenses (such as postage of evidence, hiring/engaging the services of a expert witness etc...) these costs may be charged to you and you will be given notice of these costs before they incur, so you are free to refuse such service/cost.

Which I have found to be questionable; before I was a lawyer, I have had difficulties finding representation by a Talossan attorney in MEdaL v. BenArd, wherefore I had to represent myself. I am sure if lawyers were allowed to charge a very minor fee (the Bar could regulate the amount), there would be more willing candidates; cause who says no to money?

It would certainly encourage more people to become qualified lawyers if there were money in the job!

I have been asking to be trained as lawyer since the week I immigrated and here I still am, with no lawyer training. This is not to cast any blame, I am just lamenting at the situation.

Nobody trains anybody, you study yourself and take the exam. That being said, you may want to appear before Cort pro se beforehand, just to get a feeling for all the procedures.

By "appear before Cort," do you mean just watch the proceedings, or actually tell them of my intention to become a lawyer?

Neither. “pro se” means “for oneself”, i.e. “acting on your own behalf”. Following proceedings is good, but if you can, try actually being part of a litigation; practice is always good. (Now, I know that lawsuits are not like cooking, where you can just choose what you wanna do. But if there should EVER be something you want to take to the Corts, you may want to consider representing yourself, i.e. appearing pro se, instead of hiring a Talossan attorney.)

I try to look up the meaning of every Latin legal phrase that is mentioned, but apparently I missed the correct definition this time
But, in order to represent myself, I have to sue or be sued? In both cases I would probably want someone with more experience than me to represent my case

No worries, the phrase itself is so short, and the words are so frequently used in many a language! Yes, right you are. But, well, if you're serious about wanting to become a lawyer in Talossa, I am afraid there is no other way than to practice. After all, even if you pass the exam and become a lawyer, you will have ZERO experience – what will you do then?

If I passed the bar at least, I would have a good idea of what is going on, as opposed to just walking into the Courtroom to represent myself, saying, "Yeah! I read el Lexhatx, what could possibly go wrong?"
Point taken though.

I studied for the RTB Exams by reading EVERY statute ever passed in Talossa (I did not have the luxury of the Lexhatx back then!), and the Organic Law, and the (in all fairness *obsolete*) rulebook of the Corts, and also general principles of Anglo-American law, learnt terms, looked up cases and their studies, memorised legal dictionary terms. It's quite a chore, but if you're serious about it, go for it! „Selbst ist der Mann“, they say —I guess it may be perceived as somewhat misogynic— in German; translated to “Self[-suficient] is the man [unto himself]”.

OH, there is also a good book by AD (or Asmourescu?) to show newcomers the legal ropes. Sir Alexandreu Davinescu , what was that law book thingy called? You might know as (previous) Wikimaster, even if it was Asmourescu's work. (I seriously can't remember)
