It's not unconstitutional, since it doesn't violate the constitution. But it'd be like passing a law saying that no future Assembly can outlaw a product without a 2/3 majority... it wouldn't work. It's a legislative principle that first came from the British Parliament: no legislature can tie the hands of a future one.

Huh. O well. I suppose it will probably fail, in which case I'll try again in a few months. We should have a discussion sub board though

You can just start a thread... we already have this whole board with only two active threads.

I have updated the MM Government page on the Wiki to reflect our Eleventh Assembly! Sorry for the delay, totally forgot about that page.

Sorry for taking the initiative, but I'm just trying to have some order in the way we deliberate things in MM. We should just use this specific thread as a general discussion thread. Bills be presented in the Hopper for deliberation, bills be presented in the Clark for voting. Good?

Now all we need is a procedure for locally electing senators and we'll be all set

Now all we need is a procedure for locally electing senators and we'll be all set Public voting should do. Also I'd like for candidates to lay out their intend plans if they become senator (regardless of whether or not their bid is unopposed). Our current senator has been very loyal to his constituents but that might always be so. I want to establish some accountability

I guess I could try updating the wiki myself, I could probably figure it out. Is there a way to delete all the edits I make if it turns out to be a disaster?

Yes, you can roll it all back. But we should really talk about appointing someone active to this role. I did it for years (basically since we started) and it's only a tiny amount of work, but you do have to be around to do it.
