Just a fast question.
Is there some law in Talossa, that would prohibit an Ambassador of being a member of a political party in Talossa?
Some countries do have such laws, and when a private citizen takes up a governmental position, he should resign from any political parties to avoid any conflicts of interest.
Usually this applies to officials within the financial sector...
Kind regards,
Tony Weckström

With this I somehow agree. It would give our nation more publicity, and a better picture of what is going on here - and more people would might want to join! I understand your point Alexander, but you must realize, even if you or I do not wish to accept it. That most of the countries in the world (Vatican City included) either don't know we exist, dismiss us, or only see us as a micronation. It seems to me that that view is wrong, but must be accepted as another point of view. I think, that we might as well at least engage (if not formally recognize) with other micronations, considering the more people we have, the more power we have, the more ideas we have to be formally recoginzed within the international community. By shunning the micronational community, we are but turning inwards and therefore drawing away from our goal of international recoginzation.

Esteemed members of Government!
I, as your humble Ambassador to Finland received an email from a representative of the Principality of New Texas, in hopes of a mutual treaty for Friendship & Peace.
What would the Government want me to respond to the representative on this matter, and in what way should a possible treaty be written, who would make a draft for such a treaty?
I await for the response from the official in charge for Foreign Affairs, and would also like to hear if we at all will in the future negotiate or form treaties or other co-operations with other micro-nations?
Tony Weckström Royal Ambassador to Finland

I might be laughed out of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office of Diplomatic Protocol by presenting the letter or credence etc, especially if it's just a print-out, with no real embossed seals and proper quality paper... As for the use of the Kingdom emblems, I believe that as an ambassador, I do have the right to for example fly the Talossan flag in my Embassy, even though it is a website. Then perhaps a framed picture of the King, and a nice map of Talossa would be something worth thinking of... the thing is, I have an office, that has a nice spare room, which might very well be suited for an embassy - but that's kind of up to the missus... Let's see how it goes - gotta build the website first. I think it would be interesting were you to present a diplomatic letter of credence and letter of introduction, as long as you make sure to also express that we are not trying to claim international statehood or the corresponding perquisites (we don't need to set up a physical embassy just yet, lol). You would be the first ambassador to go to these lengths, so please be careful you don't get in any trouble. If you just want to make the site and act as liaison with any other Finnish citizens, that is more than reasonable (not that I want to discourage you). The requests for materials would presumably be best directed at your boss in the Foreign Ministry personally, and I believe your establishment as ambassador to Finland functions as de facto recognition of your permission to use Kingdom seals and flags on the embassy site.

Greetings from the capital of Finland. As your Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary,
if have some questions for the Government;
Should one truly present the President with a diplomatic letter of credence and a letter of introduction?
...or just peacefully build up a website, in Finnish, to explain the history and current events of Talossa?
I am also hereby asking permission to use the Kingdoms various emblems and crests to be used on a website.
On another note; I would appreciate receiving the official letters of appointment as Ambassador to Finland, the letter of introduction, a diplomatic ID card of sorts,
and useful suggestions would be very welcome!
Kind regards,
Tony Weckström

To the Foreign Minister, and the Government.
As the Royal Ambassador to Finland, I have received a request from the micronation of Mirage Islands.
It seems they have been victims of a raiding party to their isles outside of Australia.
As before, I have answered that we do not recognize micronations, but would refer the matter to my government.
It seems all they want is to have the condemnation of other nations as support to their crisis.
Some discussion on the matter seems to take place on the Embassy Row on the Dominion of British West Florida's bulletin board system.
As I know the governments view on not having anything to do with micronations, I still felt that it would be my duty to inform you of this contact from the micronation of the Mirage Islands.
Later today, as I visited their homepage, they have now declared martial law.
I ask the Foreign Minister - shall Talossa leave the matter alone as always, or take a different course of action?

Ok. It is now edited, and sent to Mick Preston. Hopefully it is acceptable now, as the main cross is now all blue... Thanks for the input... OK. So if I have my girlfriend edit it again, making the main cross all blue, then should I assume I can post the crest on my message threads etc... ?? That should make it acceptable, but unfortunately you can't use the arms until they are actually granted by the King. And the next date for that is 12 October. The College likes to keep things all formal and fancy.

If possible, I would hereby authorize the College to make the necessary adjustments to the proposed Crest - and then please let me know as soon as possible when it is done... Tony -- The college is reviewing your latest draft. There is a violation of the tincture rule with the addition of the sable (black) that was made on top of the azure (blue) cross in your draft, and so some adjustment would need to be made. What you had as black would need to be made white or gold to achieve a legal blazon. The College is also considering the legality of the Greek cross added in dexter chief. The question of whether two identical charges (blue crosses) of two different sizes is or is not legal is currently being debated. Columcille

Any word if my, together with your help, proposed Arms has been approved by the College???Remember, It's still a work in progress. It's YOUR Arms, and needs to be a reflection of YOU. The College can help and assist in creating your ideas into an actual visual work. But bottom line, you tell US what you want, we we try and make it happen.

Ok... I am ready to see what you would be so kind as to put together for my Arms - I trust it will be a very professional design... Kind regards, Tony Weckström and the Odd Fellow should be contacting you with some ideas and feedback, looking for your further input to help guide the College. Columcille That would be me, btw.

Yes, it's very interesting - but now to the actual making of the Arms? I have very little experience in making such a picture - unless there are some ready templates to work with... This could be an interesting design. The lynx was also known as the deer-wolf (although of course it's not related to true wolves at all), the lucern (a term also used to describe its fur), or the lyzard (double the caveat for deer-wolf).

Well, obviously the animal Lynx, not that old chopper... I n Finland we can find the animal called LYNX, so perhaps a lynx sejant erect, and some kind of swords across, while the blue plus sign "+" would be in the middle...

So, what we have so far is a blue cross on a white background. As for the beast, might I suggest a "lion passant guardant" or "lion sejant erect" ? Those both are typically reflective of the leopard (since finding a cougar in Finland is really, really hard). You'd have to pick a quadrant for the placement. How's that for a start?

Does not need to reflect Finland in any way, except perhaps for a blue cross, on a white background (as the finnish flag), but more like a plus "+" sign, than a 'christian'-cross.
