To the Foreign Minister, and the Government.
As the Royal Ambassador to Finland, I have received a request from the micronation of Mirage Islands.
It seems they have been victims of a raiding party to their isles outside of Australia.
As before, I have answered that we do not recognize micronations, but would refer the matter to my government.
It seems all they want is to have the condemnation of other nations as support to their crisis.
Some discussion on the matter seems to take place on the Embassy Row on the Dominion of British West Florida's bulletin board system.
As I know the governments view on not having anything to do with micronations, I still felt that it would be my duty to inform you of this contact from the micronation of the Mirage Islands.
Later today, as I visited their homepage, they have now declared martial law.
I ask the Foreign Minister - shall Talossa leave the matter alone as always, or take a different course of action?

If the Mirage Islands are, well, a mirage, then this is not only not of any interest to us, but slightly creepy.

And needless to say, this isn't legislation, so it's in the wrong place.

The government of the Kingdom of Talossa is unclear on where exactly the Mirage Islands are located, and looking at the Website of this organisation does not seem to reveal the answer.
The position of the government of the Kingdom of Talossa shall be to continue to recognise what it believes is the legitimate sovereignty of its fellow nation of Australia over any islands that would seem to be where the so-called Mirage Islands might be.
Having looked at the Website of this organisation, I can also say that any purported "government" that has suspended "the right to verdict by a jury of pears" seems a bit, well, fruity. We Talossans are friends of pears of all kinds (notably Bartlett, and specifically in heavy syrup, although Talossa's Berberists may prefer Algerian pears) and if a jury of the things wants to render a verdict, people should have the right to hear it, martial law or no.

Can't we just put this call on Hold?
Maybe tell them we are in a meeting, and we'll get back to them?

Umm...isn't that "Martial Law" think straight out of Pirates of the Carribean III?? I just watched it yesterday... With the exception of the reference to "the right to verdict by a jury of pears", I think it is. But that's simply because how those things are usually worded. However, it doesn't seem unlikely that this whole thing is merely the result of watching Pirates of the Caribbean III too many times while eating canned pears. Not a good combination.

We will have to wait a couple of months for TW's next visit and announcement, I fear, before this urgent matter can be resolved. I will say, though, that these threads always brighten my day.

For the record, the Mirage Islands is a farce. They do not exist, their government has a number of other "micronations" (i.e. the "Principality of New Texas") that have an "alliance" (through an extensive use of internet sock puppets), and my former micronation (back from my pre-Talossa days) held a brief "war" with them on the internet.
I would also like to point out that, with a great amount of help from the Governor-General of the Dominion of British West Florida, I have discovered that the IP Addresse of the webmaster for the websites Mirage Islands AND the Principality of New Texas (which are identical) is located in Finland (interestingly enough...).
I would advise the Foreign Ministry and his Majesty to completely disregard any messages from either of these micronations.
