From and for The Royal Talossan College of Arms Azul Joshua -- As Squirrel King of Arms, I am pleased to accept your request for assistance in designing arms. I now charge the Penzance Pursuivant, Dean of the College, with assigning one of the Fellows of the College to provide that assistance. Rouge Lobster Herald Squirrel King of Arms

Azul!
In that I am the Dean of the College, I will be assigning a Fellow to help you through the next step of creating your Coat of Arms (CoA) .
Did you have a preference for a specific Fellow?
Also - besides the color Red, did you have any other ideas of what you would like to be displayed on your CoA?

Thank you! I do not have a request for a specific fellow, I trust in the abilities of all of them. I will be discussing divisions, but I would like a compass to feature prominently, as well as the sun, or perhaps some stars.

Azul Joshua!
I'll be assisting you in designing your Coat of Arms ... Hope you have already read the Dean's advisory...
I gather that you like 'Red', and would also like Sun and Stars in your emblazon along with a prominent Compass. At this stage I'd like to know what each of the symbols mean to you...
Further you said that you'll discuss about the division later on... So, do you have something in mind? Or would you like us to assist/ suggest?

Azul!
You are correct in that I would like the compass to be prominent (by compass, I mean the geometric tool). I also would enjoy having a sun and some stars if possible, but I understand that we will have to stay within the complexity rules.
The sun to me symbolizes life, as well as all of the wonderful things that make it worth living. It also symbolizes work and industriousness, and we usually do our day's work when the sun is up. The stars symbolize a whole lot of things for me. I have always been fascinated by space and the universe, but the stars are also how the great navigators of old found their way around the world. The stars were also directly involved in how the great builders designed some of the greatest structures on earth. Combined with the sun, the represent the cyclical nature of existence.
The compass represents the higher, intellectual pursuits of man. Also, having studied architecture, it represents the skill of design and building. There are also moral lessons that I associate with the compass.
As for divisions, I would definitely like some advice and assistance. I have thought about a chevron, or perhaps per pall, or per pall inverted. I realize however that there are a plethora of options, and I'd like to work with the herald's suggestions as to how to get the charges and colors to look their best.
Red is my favorite color, however, it does not necessarily have to feature in the arms. I have thought that these charges would perhaps look very good in a dark blue and silver color arrangement, however, I'm also willing to work with the herald on that as well.

Concerning the arms above, I (and His Majesty the King) would suggest that the field of mullets be more scattered rather than necessarily in rows and columns, and that (in terms of the emblazon) the compass be replaced with one of less modern design.
With those changes, if the petitioner wishes to request it as it stands, the draft, blazoned Per chevron, gules mullety of six points voided or, and or a compass sable, in dexter chief a sun or would meet with favour from the Crown.

Also, the line of division looks a wee bit low for "per chevron." I like the design, though.

In concurrence with the Squirrel King and the The Bartleby Pursuivant , I would suggest that the field of mullets be reduced from 15 to a lesser number.
To me ( and this is just my opinion) is that 15 is a wee bit overwhelming. I also (again, purely my opinion) that the 3 stars under the sun detract from the presentation of the sun.
But I await the petitioner's input, before we proceed further.
