You had already voted... still we couldn't manage yet another vote... actually a 'Contra' voter (who had also presented his version of a new flag earlier) became a member of the Cabana and changed the equations. And Variba, who liked the design did not turn up and present her papers to enter the Cabana in order to vote. Maybe, sometime later when we have the nos, we can represent the same

The bill actually passed, but now we need a referendum to see whether the citizenry ratifies it.

The way I read the Constituziun, amendments need 3/5 in the referendum, not in the Cleivi.

Sir Siervicul is correct that the bill did indeed pass and now must be sent to the citizens in a referendum.

I should mention, though, that I'm afraid the blazonry in the bill doesn't really describe the image presented. "Bendy" refers to a field variation, where the field is divided into equal diagonal stripes of two alternating colors. So "two bendy" doesn't make sense, because "bendy" is an adjective describing the field rather than a noun. If "two bends" is intended, that would mean two wide stripes running diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. That would make the whole flag look vaguely like a number/pound sign or a tic-tac-toe board, but with two narrow vertical lines (the pallets) crossing two wide diagonal lines (the bends).

Not sure about blazonry, but had got the same approved from some people in know of the language and also heraldry... Since this means we passed a wrong law, we'd have to re-pass the same? But if I am not wrong, it is the 'intent' and not the 'meaning' which counts when there is a conflict. (Basis Rules of Interpretation of Laws). So we can explain the two sets of blazons (both the wrong version as well as the correct wordings) in the referendum stating that when this was passed the members of the Cabana actually had this in mind... and it would be perfect... So, would kindly request you to prepare a most fitting blazon describing the new proposed flag...

For what it's worth, my opinion is you start all over, with a correct blazon.
That way every one who is voting is clear on what they are voting on, and what they can expect it to look like.
Also, from start to finish, you have law / amendment / flag that has been described properly, drawn properly, and voted on with everyone comfortable with what they are voting on.
That's what I would suggest. Being Dean of the College and all that.

Let us wait upon the opinion of our esteemed Premier and/or our Royal Governor.

I say the picture establishes intent more than the blazon. If the CoA folks would be so kind as to give us a correct blazon, we could just do a quick ninja-edit, so the good people of Maricopa can vote this ugly thing down and we'll never have to speak of it again.

Hmmm. The problem is that it seems to be a rather non-traditional design, which makes it very difficult to blazon accurately. But I'll think on it.

Yeah, it passed. (Damn.) Now it goes to the people for referendum, where it will hopefully be defeated. I have faith in the good people of Maricopa!
