No, colleagues, not that kind of bar. The Royal Talossan Bar, which consists of all those admitted to practice law in the Regipäts, currently stands without a Chancellor.
35RZ24, or the "Royal Household Cleaning Act", establishes the "Royal Talossan Bar, headed by the Chancellor of the Royal Talossan Bar. The function of the Royal Talossan Bar is to oversee the conduct of all persons practicing law within the Corts of the Kingdom, determine upon the efficacy of admitting and excluding persons to and from this body, and to assist and represent subjects of the King in pleas brought before His Majesty's justices." It goes on to say in the next section that "the Chancellor of the Royal Talossan Bar shall be appointed and removed by the King on the recommendation of a resolution of the Senäts."
Because the post currently is only technically filled by the former Chancellor, who has since been elevated to be our illustrious sovereign, I propose the following resolution for the consideration and approval of my fellow Senators:
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Senäts Talossán: that it is the recommendation of this body that the resignation of Sir John Woolley from the Royal Household's office of Chancellor of the Royal Talossan Bar be accepted by King John, and that further we commend this same Sir John Woolley for his efforts in that capacity during his time in office.
After we pass this resolution, I also would like to ask if anyone knows who has already been admitted to the Bar; those people being the viable candidates to serve as a replacement in the office of Chancellor, one of them would then need to be recommended by us in order that they can then administer bar exams and admit more people to the organization. I know that I, for one, would like to apply.
His resolution proposed, the Senator from Maritiimi-Maxhestic brushes away the hordes of clinging admirers and searches for a full bottle on his own, since there is no one at the bar. The Senator happens to love puns.

I would like to welcome Sir Fritz to this august body, and congratulate him on his appointment to the Ataturk seat! Welcome, Senator!
I would also like to draw the attention of our Mencei and my other colleagues back to this motion, since we are now some time advanced from our weekend break and it would behoove us to take action on this matter.

Yet AGAIN I commend this to the attention of my fellow Senators, or at least our Mencei. Is it too terribly much to ask that my brethren take the two minutes necessary to reply over the course of a month? It's a no-business month, maybe the demands on your time will be lessened now so that you can be Senators.

Speaking from the other chamber, I urge the Senäts to act on this resolution this month. Let's turn the hanger-on in the office of Chancellor of the Bar out. Let's boot him in his rear, out on his ear, cast him to the streets, leave him in the gutter, etc., etc.
Senators, with nothing else to do this month (on the Clark), please take up your own business, and debate and act on Senator Davis's resolution.
The powerless-before-you Seneschál, Hooligan

I approve of this resolution. It is my inderstanding that we don't have to vote on this sort of thing as a part of the clark, so all Senators should just approve of it on this thread (or disapprove I suppose, but I can't even come up with a bad reason to disapprove). Okay, so I vote for it then. Good. Me and Alexander. Anybody else?

It's a no-business month, maybe the demands on your time will be lessened now so that you can be Senators. El Mençéi del Senäts would like to remind the Senators assembled (and those hiding in the cloakroom, and incapacitated by drink) that at present, the motion proposed by Senator Davis has died for lack of a second. Thus we cannot vote on it (yet). First we need a second, then we can debate it. The Chair recognizes Senator Davis and agrees that his message quoted above will serve to reintroduce this Resolution to the Senäts. Do I hear a second? Senator Betiñéir, Mençéi del Senäts

I second the Resolution to the Senäts made by Senator Davis. The Mençéi recognizes Senator the Prince Patch, and accepts his second to the motion of thanksgiving and removal proposed by Senator Davis. Due to the time that Senator Davis's proposal has been before us, the Mençéi closed debate on this resolution, and asks for a voice vote. All in favor of the resolution of recognition and removal of John Woolley from the Royal Talossan Bar, please vote "Aye" or "Üc" (or "Non") before the end of our term on 20-November. Senator Betiñéir, Mençéi del Senäts

Eye... I mean "AYE". Damn Type A negatives...
I vote "OOK" on this proposition. I can't help but wonder how that Sir John Woolley guy kept the position for so long. We all remember HIM.
*e-mail vote TOTAL 5-0-0

MOTION CARRIES
Senators - As you have seen, the King has dissolved the Cosâ. While this doesn't apply to the Senäts directly, it does means our time together has come to an end. As this is the end of my term in the Senäts, I want to thank all of you for your service to our great nation. I hope you all will be able to rejoin the Senäts at the start of our next term. In the mean time, please help us by tidying up your desks before you go. While we are on recess, the floors will be refinished, and we're installing a larger keg cooler. And because it would only go bad, I have asked the Sergeant at Arms and Chief Mixologist of the Senäts to distribute the roughly 600 gallons of remaining stores between you all. Please take this with you and finish it at home. Oh - if you parked over in the Cosâ lot, please move your car or you'll find it paved in place. We don't want THAT to happen again. Let me leave you with the thought that it has been my pleasure to serve with you in this august body. Godspeed, and if you are standing for election, good luck. Sincerely, Senator Betiñéir, Mençéi del Senäts

The Seneschál thanks the Senate and its Mençéi for their service to this nation during the sitting of the 37th Cosâ. The wise counsel emanating from this chamber has guided the efforts of our nation's legislative branch throughout these many months, and the fruits of that counsel and your labour are reflected in the stable of worthy statutory additions made during this session. For those of you Senators who viewed the above paragraph with a skeptical eye, believing only that it constituted an attempt to get into your good graces, since it is now known how much extra liquor you each are taking with you, well, you're the bright ones. The effects of your action on 37RS1, the Senate resolution required by 35RZ24, recommending that His Majesty remove the fool King from his post as Chancellor of his own will be reflected on the Website of our nation as soon as the King follows your recommendation. The nation trusts that when your little fun bunch reassembles in February, you will find some poor sucker to stick with the job. Hooligan

Let us now bring this matter back to where it began, the resignation of Sir-Now-King John Woolley from the office of Chancellor of the Royal Talossan Bar.
Rather than enter the Senate Chamber himself, the King has asked that I relay a message to all: "I, the King, am happy to accept my resignation as Chancellor of the Bar, with thanks for my loyal service and good wishes for my future."
Such a matter hearkens back to the days when there was the complicated matter of the king and secretary-of-state being the same person.
At any rate, the thanks and good wishes of the Senate are not half what they ought to be, nor could be if they were thrice and a hundred-fold what they are, or will be. Three cheers for the King!
