I just applied the translation we made of Skype, it looks great!  It does look great! Well done! That must be the first computer program in Talossan; we'll have to note that for the history books. Hmm, now I am wondering, how would you say the English word screenshot in el glheþ Talossan? I'd say captür da peintaglha, based on Spanish, French, and Portuguese. If there are more people interested in translating Wikipedia to el glheþ, please register an account and add your name to this list.  Yes, please folks, create an account on TranslateWiki and add your name to the list. Even if you can only help a little bit it will make a big difference. And more training materials will be coming over the next few months. |

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I'll post on it anyway...
Firstly, I'd like to personally thank all of you who take the time out of your lives to create and translate all the materials we have so far into our beautiful language. As a language enthusiast, I can say that this is how Esperanto became so successful!
However, I personally think that the materials and incentives we have on teaching the language are still lacking. There are certain aspects of teaching a language that is still not quite met by what we currently have. Now, I'm nowhere near fluent or even proficient in talossan to make rash assumptions, but I do speak 4 languages and have sat in many, many language classes both in and out of school. If you would allow me, I'd like to help on the tutorage side of our common efforts for talossan.

The memrise idea was brilliant, but as interesting as it was, it wasn't comprehensive enough. If you want I will make/add new courses focused on more practical and conversational words. Memrise, however, is more for vocabulary. The other side of the coin is grammar and that must be taught differently.

We do have plans for courses with more practical and conversational words, like MinCult Schiva discussed. We never intended the one course out now to be a comprehensive solution. We're just working on recording audio for the next one. We'll have vocab lessons out the wazoo over the next several months. Teaching grammar is a different challenge, as you noted. It's a lot harder than teaching vocabulary. If you have specific ideas along those lines, that would be useful. |

Luckily, talossan isn't as complicated and convoluted as, say English. The most effective way of teaching grammar through an online medium is to make videos. Plain and simple. Begin with nouns and its auxiliary particles (articles, adjectives, the affixes for number, gender, etc.). Then move on to verbs, its moods and conjugations, and adverbs. Also, sandwich the courses with grammar techniques (word order, S-V agreements, etc.)
It's an extensive and difficult task to achieve, but all you need are time, editing skills, and knowledge of how to teach it.

It's sad to see that the Glheþinaziun projects seem to have died down. On the other hand, I had an idea: Talossa has a tradition regarding strategy games, and a lot of Erteiers like Civ so I thought we may translate a Civ game. Civ 5 is out of the question unfortunately - all the Localization tutorials are dead links and not available through the Wayback Machine. It's a shame, but c’e la v(h)ida. Therefore I'm planning to translate FreeCiv - an open source Civ2 clone. Is someone interested in translating it with me? |

It's sad to see that the Glheþinaziun projects seem to have died down. It is just this thread that has died down... Me and Sir C. M. Siervicül have been working on a new spreadsheet lately to translate lots of items in Minecraft. Recently Mojang has officially added the Talossan language to the latest version of the game. |

Recently Mojang has officially added the Talossan language to the latest version of the game. Indeed! This is the first-ever commercial software to officially support the Talossan language. Only about 30% of the user interface has been translated so far, and a lot of that still needs some proofreading, but we're making progress. |
