Can I ask, incidentally, what part of Maritiimi-Maxhestic has a Finnish, and Talossan word in it? *facepalm* I didn't Google

I am interested. Let's do this. You want to be Capitán AND Senator? Who are you, Huey Long? *Enters closet* Hey, Huey Long was a good guy. *eats cake*

The Alphabet Esperanto is a constructed language ( wuhthet?) invented in the 1880s by this old fart called L. L. Zamenhof, a.k.a. Doktoro Esperanto (one of those L's stands for Lejzer, which sounds like "laser"). It has become known as Esperanto, but its first name was "la Internacia Lingvo" (the International Language). It was first shown to the outside world when he published the Unua Libro. Since then, it has grown in popularity to become the most spoken constructed language in the world, and the only one with native speakers. Its alphabet is entirely phonetic. Every letter represents one sound and every sound belongs to one letter (except in the word "ekzemplo," where k is usually pronounced like g for convenience) (AND ABOUT TIME TOO, FUCK ENGLISH). It uses the basic Latin alphabet, minus q, w, x, and y (aww), plus six letters with circumflexes: ĉ ĝ ĥ ĵ ŝ and ŭ. In the event that these letters can't be accessed/typed, you can simply write the un-circumflexed letter followed by an x. This is called the x-system, and has replaced the h-system, which can be harder to interpret because h is another letter in the alphabet, while x isn't. Alphabetical order: a b c ĉ d e f g ĝ h ĥ i j ĵ k l m n o p r s ŝ t u ŭ v z Letter | Sound (IPA) | English approximation | b | /b/ | Same | c | /t͡s/ | Like ts in bats | ĉ | /t͡ʃ/ | Like ch in check it for holes | d | /d/ | Same | f | /f/ | Same | g | /g/ | Same | ĝ | /d͡ʒ/ | Like j in junk | h | /h/ | Same | ĥ | /x/ | Say k, but keep air flowing as you say it (e-mail me a recording and I'll tell you how you sound) | j | /j/ | Like y in yes, ooh, right there | ĵ | /ʒ/ | Like g in ménage à trois | k | /k/ | Same | m | /m/ | Same | n | /n/ | Same | p | /p/ | Same | r | /r/ | ROLL YOUR R'S GODDAMMIT | s | /s/ | Same | ŝ | /ʃ/ | Like sh in shit | t | /t/ | Same | ŭ | /u̯/ or /w/ | Like w in wait a sec | v | /v/ | Same | z | /z/ | Same |
Vowels sound pretty much the same in English as in Esperanto. Y'know, ah, e, ee, oh, oo. There you go, you got an alphabet. I'll make another one of these soon. If my lesson is too "vulgar" for you, go away. PRACTICE: Oooooooooooh, yes, there's practice. Pronounce the words here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_common_words_in_Esperanto

The room isn't blue, and there are no evil-looking guards holding court. Not a real international frontier - lol. ;-) Well, my bedsheets are blue and I have some Lego stormtroopers. Will that suffice?

There is a new part of the Kingdom, which I have claimed for us: my bedroom. Admittedly, it is a rather squalid place. However, it has a picturesque view from the windows. In the second greatest military engagement in Talossan history, which will be forever enshrined as the Battle of the Printer, the sign that marks the end of the "American sector" of my house was forged and the territory secured. I'm trying to figure out what to call it. Maybe Vapläts or Reic'h del Descheir.

I would just crowdsource the designs and have the Minister of the Interior approve them. That'd be a cool idea. Like, have people volunteer to design a ribbon (no limit on number of designers), and then have the MinInt choose the best design. (Also, what about ribbons for deputy heads of ministries?)

*Tip-toes into room*
I think this is an amazing idea and that it would really put some patriotic spirit back into Talossa. We're not just officers. We're citizens!
*Looks around, sees cake*
You have CAKE!? I knew you weren't just legislating in here! *NOM NOM NOM*

Ah, graschcias!
So, if the noun has lenition, the adjective has lenition, and when the noun has eclipsis, so does the adjective? And does it go both ways (if the adjective mutates, does the noun have to, too)?

Well, I'm the deputy minister of STUFF. I help with the image Talossa presents to the rest of the world, and I used to be the minister of foreign affairs, although that didn't last very long. Ian Plätschisch is the deputy prime minister and has held other positions. He's also the only regularly active member of the Provincial Assembly of Maritiimi-Maxhestic (the best province), and, as such, is also its leader. Lüc da Schir is a senator and the party leader of the Moderate Radical Party of Talossa, and has many other things besides. And Ián Anglatzarâ has probably done more for the Kingdom than the others mentioned combined.
We're all available to answer questions here. I can be reached at (470) 535-3388 in the afternoons after 4:00 EST. I'm still in school, so I can't talk during the day.
