Why so eager to disenfranchise people? No other country in the world expels it's citizens for not voting? My suggestion is an active and inactive list. Don't vote or become inactive for a certain period of time and you go on the inactive list. It's your job to keep the government current on your address. What does that hurt? I mean how about those people you never hear from until election time and then they dutifully show up to "do their duty". A lot of political parties rely on them. Ben sure did. They frustrate the few truly active citizens just as much. With hundreds of people capable of voting no party will be sure of anything.

The Passport would indeed be cool as well but the Certificate of Citizenship is a must have. Mine would proudly hang in the bar (embassy) bringing comments and creating interest. We have some great artists in the Kingdom. Won't someone step forward on this? As for printing paper money (monopoly comes to mind) how will this advance our Kingdom? What do we buy with it, what backs its value? It would be funny but that's about it. Each person who becomes a citizen of Talossa should get more than words of welcome on Wittenberg. They should receive their citizenship papers.

That is a given. And the printing of money, coins, stamps, etc. could create similar problems.

Before we go depleting the Royal Treasury to make anything lets give it back to the citizens in a way that counts.
We can do that with Passports and a Certificate of Citizenship that can be framed and proudly displayed in our homes or business's. This will attract attention to our Kingdom and perhaps interest others in the same.
This is an idea that has been on the back burner for years and it is time to act on it. I urge the King to lead the way.

I was happily surprised on the evening of August 1st when the 60's Pop Band "Hermans Hermits" dropped by for a visit. They are in Wisconsin performing for our State Fair. We became friends years ago when I was in the music business and have maintained a friendship ever since. In a previous visit they signed guitars and strummed through one of their old hits "Mrs Brown, You've got a lovely daughter" to everyones enjoyment. These guys are real gentlemen as well as great performers. Now if I can just talk them into joining the Kingdom.

My son and fellow Talossan Jason Buchholtz is getting married at 11:30 this morning. His bride to be Suzanne, is an Australian and they plan to move there in October. I'm happy for them but will miss him terribly. Why does he have to marry so young? It's his first (of course, he is only 37).

My daughter never votes. That is her right and choice (like it or not). You would classify her as un-american? Dan, you have a right to your opinion. And you won't be kicked out for it. Couldn't that same right extend to others? Your way Talossa loses citizens, important citizens who for whatever reason don't remain active anymore (but have not renounced either). The other way they remain until they choose to leave. I'll stop preaching now. I have witnessed first hand the harm this law does to our Kingdom and felt I should speak up. I thank everyone for the polite way they have responded.

Can't we have both? Active and inactive citizens as all other countries of the world do? And no one stays active or interested in all things all of the time.

Lets examine why Ben created the "3 strikes law" in the first place. If you let people remain citizens albeit inactive ones how would you know if they would vote or how they would vote? It made elections unpredictable and Ben had to be in control. We all have our own reasons for belonging to the Kingdom. Some of us like the political activity, some the language, some just the friends in other countries. In like manner some of us wish to be active and some of us do not. Neither makes one or the other better or worse....and it shouldn't cost anyone their citizenship.

Of Course Cresti. I am having dinner at the Round Table one more time at the end of this month with the Duke, Greg and John and perhaps the Hammer. At that time I convey everyones best wishes. Perhaps a personal letter from the King I might present him with? Just a thoughtr.

My Fellow Talossans,
This morning Duke Ian confirmed he is no longer interested in being a part of Talossa. His reasons are personal. John was and always will be a friend of mine. It was he who finally convinced me to join Talossa. The CLP would never have existed had it not been for his guidance. I believe that were it not for John there would be no Kingdom of Talossa today. His sick sense of humor makes me smile still. Talossa will never be quite the same. What a loss.
Good Bye Old Friend
