Ok, I think that's about as much of this project as I will get done today. Anyone who is going to be using this IPA stuff, try it out and let me know what's working and what's not.

The Talossan language article on Wikipedia has a pretty good inventory. These templates confuse my feeble wiki skills, but I will try taking a look at what you have in the next couple of days.

WHOA! Awesome! I'll get to work making sure we're covering all of these bases. Also, we should take this article and put it on our wiki too since it is awesome.

How do I contribute to pronunciations? Where do I upload files, blabla?

Well, it depends on how much you want to do. You can just record a bunch of words and send them to me, and I can cut them apart and standardize them and upload them, like I did with the last big bunch. Or you can do them individually yourself, with 1/3 of a second of silence before and after your clear pronunciation of the word. You can upload them individually just like uploading an image.

What recording programme do you recommend?

Um... I don't really know. Maybe Audacity? It works and it's free.

And if you can save and upload in the OGG format, it would be appreciated (by me, anyway). To whatever degree possible I'd like to see Talossa use open file formats. All the cool government kids are doing it.

Oh, yeah, that's also a good point. I used OGG and we should try to keep it consistent, too.

Soooo, does Audacity have the option to oggise files, or will I have to convert them?

You can export a sound file as an OGG, sure. It's how I did it.

It saves to that format and many others. I recommend Audacity too. Simple and powerful.
