The results are in! Turnout: 27.3% (6 out of 22 - no abstentions) Therefore, I hereby announce that Miestrâ Schivâ is Fiôvâ's new senator!

Congratulations to the victorious candidate, and commiserations to S:reu Vercaria! Now, all we need to address is how we can improve our turnout in the next Senatorial election.

Indeed. Hopefully there won't be as many technical issues. I guess this puts us well on track for next year's Capitan election.

The dramatically low turnout may indeed indicate that Fiôvâ isn't that much of a remedy to overcome the lack of republican elements and influences on the national layer.
Anyway, congrats to Miestrâ and many thanks to the goodly hearted voter who saved me from the embarrassment of being the only one who is voting for my good self.

I very much doubt that the turnout was a result of this. Rather, I think next time, we need to make sure that an e-mail goes out to citizens of Fiova which informs them of the election which is taking place.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you. There, I think that's covered all my voters. Yeah, one thing we learned from our history in the Republic is that voters do need to be reminded by email. Now, I look forward to representing this august province in our august upper chamber... beside Senators Preston and Marcianus. This may be... interesting. And, of course, I urge everyone to vote ZRT (or ModRad, according to personal preference), so that I can speak on behalf of a brand new Government in the Senats.

... another point. Do we think that next time the Senator election should run 2 weeks, to match the term of the Cosâ election?

Hm, I note that Fiova's level of turnout was less than half the typical national turnout (although this election's turnout will itself also be lower, I think). M-M experienced a similar problem when we ran our own election, last term. I wonder what the commonality, if any, might be.

If I may be allowed to comment in the Fiova Province forum-
I would like to congratulate Senator Elect Schivâ on her election to the Senate of Talossa! As the current Mençei del Senäts, I look forward to her discussions and comments in our Chamber. I feel that the Senäts is the ideal area to discuss issues confronting our great nation, as we are representing our Provinces, and not a political party.
I am obligated to notify that as the Junior Senator to the Chamber, we will be expecting her to stock the Senäts Bar with libations.
Congrats, Dame Miestra!

Anyway, email notifications and a longer voting period next time. I also must remember to leave a week between the nominations and the voting period. *shakes head* Silly me.

I was not informed of the deadline and thought it coincided with that of the Cosa election. I voted today and to my surprise the election here was already closed. I would have voted for Dieter Vercaria.

I would have voted for Dieter Vercaria. I do apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred. This is my first time as ProvSoS and I can assure you that I have learned from any mistakes I might have made. However, it was stated quite clearly on the election thread that the voting would end on the 24th of December. I apologize again for the lack of any notification via email, which will definitely be put into effect in the next Fiovan election.
