Veni, vidi - but I did not cast a vote (neither Aus, nor Per or Con)... so am I still considered an absentee? But then again, I did come...

If the overlords recommend voting purr, I'll go with PER on this.

Veni, vidi - but I did not cast a vote (neither Aus, nor Per or Con)... so am I still considered an absentee? But then again, I did come... Yes, if you don't show up at all -- neither to vote per, nor contra, nor austanéu -- that's pretty much what being absent means. But the provincial constitution states that laws must be passed by a majority of the members of the Cleivi. Based on traditional rules of parliamentary procedure, I interpret that to be more stringent than a majority of those present and voting. If there are nine members, you need five "pers" to pass. If the overlords recommend voting purr, I'll go with PER on this. Thanks for the vote! We now have four votes in favour and five members not voting, so I will extend the voting period ONCE AGAIN until the end of the month.

Hey, don't get angry, Maricopans fellows, now there's at least one reason why this bill has been named "lazy good-for-nothings"after all.

On 29th it was extended to the end of the month... so I assume it to have failed... If not, it should be re-presented? or do we see another extension??

I PMed all members who had not yet voted, calling the vote to their attention, but was remiss in not specifying the voting period in my message. So I will extend the voting period for an additional period of one week, and PM all members who still have not yet voted with the new deadline.

Nope, the deadline is now 9 November. Now there are 5 votes in favour and 4 members not voting, which means if nothing changes the bill will pass. But I will leave voting open until the stated deadline just to make sure the 4 remaining members have the fullest opportunity to participate.

Six members having voted per by the deadline of 9 November, and none opposed (with three not voting), this bill has passed.

The Lazy Good-for-Nothings ActTHEREFORE the Cleivi resolves that Maricopan Senäts elections shall be conducted by the Kingdom Chancery until the Secretary of State is no longer a citizen of Maricopa Province or until this act is repealed, whichever happens first. This isn't on the wiki page and needs to be, but more importantly, me thinks we Maricopans have ran afoul of our own law! I suppose it is fitting, actually, that the title of this Act is "Lazy-Good-for-Nothings". Anyone want to volunteer to propose an Act to amend this law (and recognize the previous Senate election conducted by the SoS), or should I?

Interesting. I didn't remember this law and it was before I became Provincial Secretary I believe. At least we realized it before the NEXT senatorial election. Let's amend it. I think it might be time for us to handle our own senatorial elections. What do you think?

I think it might be time for us to handle our own senatorial elections. What do you think? Well, Maricopa had the second-lowest turnout of any province for the general election. My concern would be that when a province conducts its own election, it seems that turnout tends to be lower than for the general election.
