I was previously ignorant of the fact that Cézembre possessed its own peerage. As the wiki says: At the same time, I have been reading Véra Kornicker's Cézembre: l'île interdite on Google Books, where she names the various chapels/monasteries which were once active centres of culture in the province, some of them lying in ruins. They are: Saint-Sauveur / Sant-Salviour (Saint Saviour) chapel to the east Saint-Michel / Sant-Mic'haglh (Saint Michael) chapel to the north Saint-Joseph / Sant-Ups (Saint Joseph) chapel to the west Notre-Dame-de-l'Île / Noastra-Doamna-dal-Ínsula (Our Lady of the Island) chapel to the south L'Oratoire de Saint-Brandan / La Clostrança da Sant-Brendan (Saint Brendan's Oratory) chapel Maybe these could be the basis for the names of the baronies in the peerage of Cézembre? (Said the ZRT member from Atatürk)

Random side-thing: Marcheiça del Zoneu Tradicat / Marquis of the Forbidden Zone is a pretty damn cool title.

The current language on the Wiki is kind of a placeholder. Cézembrian titles of nobility were much discussed in 2008 and 2009, and briefly again last year, but nothing concrete has come of it. Here is a link to the thread in the College of Arms forum -- after that discussion occurred mostly on the College's e-mail list. In the plan last discussed (principally drafted by Owen Edwards), there would be three levels of nobility: marquis, viscount, and a hereditary knighthood (similar to English baronets) with a title of chatelaine, chevalier, or seigneur. There was discussion of associating some of the titles with the historic chapels of Cézembre. In Owen's plan it was the viscounties, but assigning the chatelaines to chapels could also be good.

Personally, I like châtelain (fem. châtelaine). The Talossan word would, I suppose, be castiglhan.
Anyone know where we might locate a map of Cézembre that shows all these chapels, that we might know to which viscount each of the various châtelain(e)s owes his/her fealty?

Page 21 of the Google book I linked above has a photograph of a grainy plaque which maps some of these chapels.

"Castiglhan" sounds so much like « Castile » or « Castellano » (cf. "Caschtala" and "Castiglha").
From a linguistical point of view, I humbly propose the word to be "casteglh-" (with E instead of I) and the adjective-suffix "-eu" (if I am not mistaken that it functions as such) to become "Casteglheu". I daresay it were possible, although I have not encountered the utilisation thereof, to form a feminine noun by devocalising the "-u" back to "-l-" and forming "Casteglhela" (audaciously assuming that -eu < *-el).

This discussion reminded me to start making some maps. I did notice that there is a Cape Cézembre, Antarctica as well. Link at bit.ly/1fjeP5t

Unfortunately, Cape Cézembre is not in Pengöpäts, but just on the other side of the Ross Sea!

Unfortunately, Cape Cézembre is not in Pengöpäts, but just on the other side of the Ross Sea! We should definitely annex it! It's ours, fellow citizens, ours! Long Live The King of Cézembre and Cape Cézembre etc. etc.

Odd how this fell silent, made very interesting reading. Is anyone still up for the annexing of cape cezambre? Also a I like the idea of using the chapels as nameing for the currently non existent barons. Is it constitutionally viable?

Just bumping this to encourage further discussion among Cézembriens about these plans. The fate of the Cézembre peerage has always been a side-interest of mine (as an interested outsider).

I rather like the idea of an additional honours structure - and I also like the idea of annexing Cape Cézembre. Why not confuse everybody (well, everybody else) and confound these two into a single suggestion? I, of course, as a Justice can make no vote on this, but....
Comments?

The King showed interest in reviving the idea not many months ago - I shall send him another email on the matter.
