Benedict was a citizen so much earlier than the others, I kind of wonder whether the real Benedict lost interest and Eric just guessed the password to his account or something. I had thought the same thing, so I asked Börnatfighleu that specifically; he told me he'd made up the Benedict Stamford account just like all the others. — John R

I couldn't have said it better myself (I was actually typing up a comment that the law was broken not because it is necessarily a bad law but because a bad person decided to break it) Not to throw myself onto a fire needlessly, but, let's think about our choice of words here. Is Eric really a bad person or did he simply make a mistake and do a bad thing? I don't think for a minute he is a bad person. I don't believe anyone is a "bad" person. Eric, like anyone who does something that is considered to be "bad" simply is human. In this case, he made a mistake, and got caught up in it. The mistake overwhelmed him, but that doesn't make him bad.

I believe there are bad people. I don't necessarily believe Eric was a bad person, but believe me, they exist. MAG

This was a spectacularly stupid thing to do, but I can see the appeal in it for a theatre man. I still count Eric as a friend and count on staying in touch with him on Facebook.

I understand these concerns; perhaps we should still keep an immigration portfolio in the government to decide on policy, but have civil servants be responsible for its implementation?

I've gone in and removed Ebornatfiglheu from Citizens group editing access in the Wiki. I didn't recognize any of the sock puppets as having an account, but I may have made a mistake.

I hope this wasn't a conspiracy and "Sariah" wasn't reporting our internal deliberations back to Peculiarist HQ so they could all have a good laugh. I for one didn't know about this prank, nor has there been a Peculiarst conspiracy. This is the first time I'm reading about Eiric's sock puppet accounts, and I must say I'm feeling asinine, having spent thoughts on the (sometimes erratic) behaviour and problems of "Benedict", "Judah", "Sariah" etc.

we need stricter procedures concerning immigration - something akin to what the Republic possessed, Hear freakin' hear. Talossan citizenship only for real people with a forename, a hindname, an address, and photo ID to back it up! What has happened is exactly the reason why Ben, JJ, etc had the photo ID requirement back in the day. Let's bring some sort of immigration reform out of all this. GV

The only way the photo ID works is if it is mailed. I, and most of us here, could fake an ID scan, but it would be a bit more trouble to have it mailed from the place it's supposed to be coming from. Not an insurmountable problem, to be sure, but it would be a big speed-bump for pranksters.
I'm very sad to hear of this. I always liked Eric, and have been impressed by him, especially during our NPW setup discussions.
