I finally got Black Betty out of the garage and took a drive. Let me tell you the story...
First, last fall I noticed that the front right tire had gone flat. I kind of knew it was going flat but I figured with winter coming I'd just leave it and fix it in the spring. I did put the spare on, mostly to get some experince with that. I thought the spare was good. I was wrong. That had a leak, too.
So, I get in touch with the parts guy and get some tubes (the tires looked ok, I figure the valve stems were bad) and I also bought a hand pump. The pump didn' work so I had to get a different one. After about two hours, I had one tire fixed and ready to go. I also had heat stroke. Needless to say, the spare has yet to be fixed.
Just when I thought the T was ready (excluding the oil change I keep putting off), I went out to start her yesterday and nothing happened. I tried again and still nothing. 'Don't tell me the battery is dead.' I thought. Sure enough, the battery was dead. I'll take credit for that one. I think I didn't turn the light switch all the way to center. Which means the battery was pumping juice through the electrics for about three months...or until it died.
So, I go out and get a battery and now everything seems ok. I'm sure everyone wanted to hear my boring story. YOU'RE WELCOME! ;D

[...]The pump didn' work so I had to get a different one.[...] Perhaps some vandals had taken the handle.

I'm sure everyone wanted to hear my boring story. YOU'RE WELCOME! ;D It's a story about an antique car. It can by definition not be boring! (OK, don't test this theory!)
