As Minister of Culture, I think it is important that we preserve the unique history and culture of the Republic, not just for Fiova but for Talossa as a whole. It would serve us better in understanding each other.
I would be interesting in working with someone or as many people as possible to write a comprehensive history of the Republic to be archived both in Fiova and by the Ministry of Culture.
My idea would be to create an office in the Ministry that would help to preserve that history. Naturally, I would invite any former citizen of the Republic to help me with this.
I have read through some threads and see this is already underway. I think that is great and hope we can work together to do something nationally.
All feedback is welcomed.

That is great. Anyone else interested? I was thinking of creating an office within the Ministry to deal with this. Something akin to "Bureau of the Four Everlasting Stars"

I'm interested, but just preparing for a vacation, and therefore not signing in on anything.

I'm really excited to work with both of you. When are you both back in September? I must admit, I also pretty busy (with my wedding, moving apartments, office is moving) until after the American Labor Day. So I can mention the formation of the office, mention you both will be working in it and then we can just brain storm until we can do some substantive work post-summer. How's that?
Also, what do you think of the name, "Bureau of the Four Everlasting Stars"?

As life is traditionally and practically getting more indoors-bound in September, September is it. As for the name, no objections, whereas .. er .. over here it's too hot for coming up with a comment that makes sense. My polar bear fur is on fire.

The Office of the Capitan is willing and available to assist if needs be.

I guess that with so many volunteers (3 till now) from the former republic - you can have 4 representatives at a time in the bureau (the four everlasting stars). That way, the Bureau will always be functioning even if someone is not there. And when anyone is absent for long, or seeks release then another from the former citizens can be appointed. Whatsay?

I think this is great. Any and all help would be great. In the next week or so, I'll be contacting you all with some ideas. As we discussed, the real work will start in September, when everyone's lives calm down a bit. But please brainstorm some ideas on what we can do. I really like the idea of putting together a comprehensive history of the Republic.

We could try to (re-) construct a timeline of the Republic's history, and then commence to put flesh to this bone, by-and-by. As for contacting and early discussions, I may be almost completely offline during the next three weeks, as this is supposeded to be a time when my life calms down for real, hopefully - practically, I'll be in a place with no landline and almost no aerial connection to the internet.

Now that we are well into September, perhaps we can start working on this project. Benedickt, Carlus, and Dieter, and Ian, I think it would be best if we figured out what areas we'd like to cover and then divvy them up based on expertise? How does this sound?

Who is this Benedickt you are talking of ? Or are you misspelling Béneditsch? I am not a Fiovan... nor am I from the Republican... Hence I have no idea about the Republic Culture I just posted in the thread to give an idea. Kindly consider someone else. Thanks. Ben-Ard
