Azul, good folk of Benito. I have come to formally announce that I too intend to run for Senator of our noble province. While I do not possess the credentials of my opponent, I nonetheless believe I will be able to perform the duties of Senator quite adequately, and will work tirelessly to make Benito a better, more active, and vibrant province. With your help, we can do it! I would also like to extend my thanks to our outgoing Senator for the Admirable job he has performed during his tenure.

Do you mind if non-Benitans ask you questions about your campaign?

Certainly, Glüc! Ask away! I must state that the Taiwos Campaign Headquarters are periodically experiencing technical difficulties. (Inexplicable sporadic internet connection problems.) I hereby am authorizing Vitxalmour Conductour to speak on my behalf, if need be. (Hopefully I'll have these issues sorted out soon. What a wonderful time for my internet to go on the fritz!)

I hereby am authorizing Vitxalmour Conductour to speak on my behalf, if need be. If I do act in this capacity, I will make it quite clear whether I am relaying Iason's actual words or stating what I believe his answer would be (which I would only do if I had good reason to feel I knew the answer, like purely procedural things, or topics I had previously discussed with him), and if I do the latter, I will endeavor to acquire his actual words as soon as possible.

Vitx --
What is Iason's favourite vegetable?
Not that it should influence his (or your) answer (especially since no Benitian am I), but mine, hands-down, is asparagus. Which is odd since I hated that stuff as a kid, my mom only serving us the canned variety (which sucks; everyone must agree on that), as I grew up with my parents having more children than they had money. I love all vegetables (truly I do), but asparagus is somehow way above all of them in the list.

There has been a recent stir regarding the Royal veto right as it applies to provincial legislation.
Do you believe that the national standard, as defined in the OrgLaw, of a 2/3 vote to override a King's veto should be extended to the Provinces? If an amendment is necessary to make this requirement explicit would you support it?

The same question I asked your opponent: Do you think it is possible to reform the electoral system to make politicians and parties more accountable? And if so, how?

M:sr da Dhi, upon further discussion with M:sr Taiwos, we feel that relaying substantive responses through an intermediary (me) would do a disservice to all involved. I assure you, M:sr Taiwos is aware of your question and intends to answer it as soon as he can. I believe he also has more to say on M:sr Ianescu's topic. I am still willing to answer the light hearted questions, such as Baron Hooligan's, and to relay the simple yes and no answers on M:sr Taiwos' behalf, as I did in response to M:sr Ianescu, but I shall let him speak for himself on more important issues and more in depth responses. If someone has a job but isn't actually making the decisions or pushing forward the government's agenda, then that person is being used as a "human shield" by the less scrupulous. There is some truth in the idea behind that, and neither M:sr Taiwos nor I wish to be suspected of such nefarious skullduggery. Hopefully, he will be able to make his appearance here soon, curses be to the gremlins of technology. Until then, -Vitxalmour Conductour, All Circus, No Bread.

M:sr Taiwos' response was encouraging, a cut and dry response to what I see as a fairly cut and dry issue.
That being said, I won't discourage elaboration on the reasoning behind his position.

The same question I asked your opponent: Do you think it is possible to reform the electoral system to make politicians and parties more accountable? And if so, how? I do believe politicians and parties should be more accountable. If elected, I would propose legislation to that effect. The job of Senator, as I see it, is to represent the Benitian citizenry. If ever I, as a Senator, were to fail to represent the will of my constituency, I would expect to be thrown out of office and replaced by someone more in line with the needs of the Benitian people. Benitians, and all people, have a right to be properly represented.
