Azul, fellow Talossans!
Her Majesty the Queen and I have returned from our five-week journey to the Old World. We are still only vaguely aware of what has happened in our absence, and it will take some time to come up to speed with stuff, so bear with us in our ignorance.
At this time, I am officially resuming the powers of the Throne. My thanks go out to our Regent, Mark Hamilton, for his excellent work during this difficult time in our history. Discussions are ongoing to find a permanent Regent, who will assume the office of Head of State for the young King Louis Adam I, when I retire from the Throne.
The trip was, of course, wonderful. Right now I'm sitting at the computer at home, and if I look over my shoulder I can see the Berber rug I bought in the government-owned shop in Tunis. It is, of course, red and green! And made by real Berbers (one of whom was quite insistent that he was Berber, not Arab. :-)
I collected a number of books for Talossan language purposes, including several on Corsican and a cool grammar of the Genoese dialect.
Did any of you receive post cards from Tunisia, part of the Greater Berber Homeland? We mailed them from Teboursouk, a small town about 50 miles from Tunis, so we're hoping they got through.
Congratulations, Gary, on your appointment as Prime Minister--the first "Old Growther" to be PM since 1997 or so. My heart goes out to Quedeir Castiglha for all the grief he's had to endure over the last few months. He has been a model of public service. Special thanks too, to Pete Hottelet--for setting up a new Wittenberg. If it is not too presumptuous, I would like to offer the name "Stotanneu" for the discussion group, and authorize the use of the Stotanneu logo. I think this would be a good way to assert our own identity as the historic Talossa. But, of course, I will leave it up to a vote of the participants.
Our former archivist did indeed send the bulk of the National Archives to me, and they are now in my possession. Some archival material remains in his custody, and I hope to resolve this issue in the coming days and unify the collection of Talossa's historic documents. All Talossan works published over my name, including the Grammar and Dictionaries of Talossan, Ar Pats, and the Berber Project, are held under my copyright and will be made available to the Kingdom of Talossa.
In closing, let me say how proud I am at how you have all responded to the recent crisis. The idea that Talossa would fall apart without me, has decisively been proven false. Those of you who have known me a long time have known that this is a life-long dream of mine: To leave Talossa in a state so strong that my overbearing presence was no longer necessary.
JJ, I read your post before anyone else's. Thanks for your words, we should talk. It is good to hear from you!
