Recommendation on the appointment of Ministers

Your Majesty and my fellow Talossans,

It was once said by H.E. Luccock that “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” The same can be said for the Government of a Talossa, no one person can manage the tasks, projects and the duties entrusted by the citizens of Talossa and His Majesty, in His Government on his/her own, s/he needs a team of committed, hardworking and determined Talossans, for it is individual commitment to a group effort - that is what a Government work and a Government deliver results. This team of hardworking Ministers, will work with myself, to ensure that what has been promised, is delivered, that what needs to be done is done beyond expectation and to make sure that Talossa continues to be the greatest nation on the face of this planet.

I have spent the last week thinking of Talossans who I believe will work at his/her individual portfolios, determined to complete the projects assigned to their office, achieve tangible results and not fall into the dreaded inactivity trap, whereby they and their office falls inactive, to the detriment to both the Government and the Kingdom of Talossa. I am eager to avoid advising His Majesty to appoint citizens to His Majesty’s Government just so each Ministry is filled and the Government looks to be working, when in reality it is not working for the people in which it serves and is not delivering the results it envisioned due to the large number of inactive Ministers and active Ministers trying to pick up the slack where others have failed to do so. Therefore, in keeping with my party’s manifesto and my own belief that less is best, I am only advising the appointment of active and hardworking Talossans who have a track record of achieving results for appointment to His Majesty’s Government and will therefore be assigning two or more portfolios of the Government to one Minister until such a time, a citizen who meets the high standards expected of a Minister of HM Government indicates that s/he would be interested in a certain portfolio, then s/he will be appointed to such a portfolio. It is my belief that by ensuring all Government portfolios are filled by active Ministers that results can truly be delivered in all aspects from the Government.

Thus, in line with the famous words of Margaret Meade, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” I do hereby recommend to His Majesty, the appointment of the following to His Majesty’s Government:

To the Office of El Distáin, I do hereby recommend someone who needs no introduction as the hard work, dedication and selfless devotion to Talossa is well known and clearly visible today in Talossa as it has always been in the past. He is a man of incredible experience and a wealth of knowledge, who served in my office in the past and continues to work behind the scenes in guiding those who have followed in his footsteps. Therefore, it is a without pride that I recommend that: Ma la Mha, Baron Hooligan be appointed as El Distáin . The Distáin will in the coming days be posting a list of projects he hopes to achieve over the duration of the Government.

For La Ministrà da Cúltura I do hereby recommend for appointment as Minister of Culture, a Talossan who has shown considerable dedication to the promotion of the Talossan Language and Talossan Culture, who has a proven track record of hard work and will serve this Ministry well. He also has the experience of holding my office along with one of the most vital offices of the State, the Secretary of State and will serve His Majesty and this Government well. I therefore recommend that S:r Iustì Canun be appointed Minister of Culture . The Minister of Culture will in the coming days also be posting a list of projects, he hopes to achieve over the duration of this Government.

For La Ministrà da Zefençù I do hereby recommend for re-appointment as Minster of Defence, someone who has kept the zombie uprising at bay and has prepared our nation in readiness for their attack. Someone who is a member of the Defence Forces in our neighbouring nation and who has firsthand experience in the running and workings of the defence force. He has proved over time to be a great Talossan and a fantastic worker, who I have no doubt will keep this nation safe and ready for the duration of this Government. Therefore, with great honour, I do hereby recommend, that S:r Bradley Holmes be re-appointed as Minister of Defence. The Minister of Defence will in the coming days also be posting a list of projects, he hopes to achieve over the duration of this Government.

For La Ministrà dels Afaes Inphätseschti I recommend for appointment, a Talossan whose very name stirs up pride in every Talossan, a Talossan who lives in the Kingdom itself and has spearheaded a drive for a greater presence of the Kingdom in the Kingdom itself. A man who has graced my office and has tremendous experience in all things Talossan. Therefore, I great pride, I do hereby recommend: Sir Fritz von Buchholtz, UrN, Cin. for appointment as Minister of Home Affairs The Minister of Home Affairs will in the coming days also be posting a list of projects, he hopes to achieve over the duration of this Government.

For Ministrà del Sanavarh da Talossa àls Ultra-Fiovaes Folas I appoint a Talossan who again has recent experience of my office and in the past has held the office of Minister of Stuff and did a fantastic job at getting projects such as TalossaWare of the ground and I have no doubt he will do a excellent job this time round. He has shown dedication to Talossa throughout his time here and I believe he will be a dedicated Minister to his Office, therefore I recommend that: S:r Alexander Davis be appointed Minister of Stuff. The Minister of Stuff will in the coming days also be posting a list of projects, he hopes to achieve over the duration of this Government.

I also, which to announce that, as I explained in my opening above, I will be assigning the remaining offices as follows:
To my Office, the Prime Ministry , I do hereby assign the following Ministries to be managed by myself:
La Ministrà dal Finançù / The Ministry of Finance
La Ministrà dal Xhusticia/ The Ministry of Justice

Projects, for the above will also be announced in the coming days.

To the Office of Distain I do hereby assign the following Ministries to be managed by Ma la Mha, Baron Hooligan:
La Ministrà d'Inmigraziun / The Ministry of Immigration
La Ministrà dals Afaes Utphätseschti / Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Projects for the above will also be announced in the coming days.

I look forward to working with the newly appointed Ministers over the upcoming term and indeed, members of the opposition and the Ziu.

The depth of my humility is exceeded only by my gratitude at seeing such unmerited words spoken of me, and by the strength of my desire to serve my fellow Talossans and my King in any way that is seen fit. Thus, once more nothing less than certain of my own inability to meet the high standards of service in the office to which I am called, I accept the appointment thereto, and I pledge to devote all the energies I can to the execution of the office of Distain, and to see to the proper implementation and completion of projects for the ministries of Immigration and Foreign Affairs.

As indicated by the Prime Minister, a list of those projects planned for this Cosa for these ministries will be forthcoming.

My thanks for your kind words and confidence in me, however as I said in private I must decline and suggest Flip Molinar in my place. From the time I first joined Talossa and founded the CLP I have stood against multiple office holding. I am currently on the High Court and also the Burgermeister. That is enough. If I can assist in any other manner feel free to ask.

First of all, let me thank S:da Cjantscheir for her gracious acceptance of the burden of the Seneschalsqab, to which we can all agree that I appointed her, even though I seem not to have made a Witt posting to that effect. (Sorry, my royal bad.) I am very sure that she will bear it well.

Then, let me thank her as well for these recommendations, every one of which I most heartily assent to, except that Lord Fritz prefers not to serve as Home Minister (so I won't appoint him). I hereby appoint Lord Hooligan as Distain, S:reu Canùn as Minister of Culture, S:reu Holmes as Defense Minister, and S:reu Davis as Minister of Stuff. Congratulations to the new Ministry; we can all be assured that the country is in good hands.

Lord Hooligan, unless the snow gets much worse in the next couple of hours, I will see that you have a chance to serve the King in a concrete way. That is, in a liquid way. If you get my drift.
