Election Commentary (We have to have one every year)
So blast from the past: Corinne de Winter voting, and voting PPT at that!
Seems pretty close this year, guys. Thoughts?

yup. very close on all fronts. The national election has been neck and neck all the way through so far ... and with the exception in Benito, the Senate races are tight too. This could go either way by a only a few seats.

Q: How many PPers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Four. One to draft and pass a bill, one to accuse the senate of being purposely obfuscatory, one to claim that the lightbulb is integral to our human rights, and one to ensure transparency.

I remember my early conversations with Connie de Winter when she joined the CLP. What an exceptional person. I only wish I could have met her in person.

Thoughts on the low election turnout? This is one of our lowest turnouts in years so far!

Turnout has been very poor. Hey, at least the chancery hasn't had to announce any suspected voter fraud this year (yet).

I want to congratulate Talossa this time around. We have had a calm and cool election much different from the explosive election last time. Albeit, voter turn out has been low but I think that is bound to be expected after the hurt feelings last time around. I'm enthused; I think now Talossa can be rebuilt and reinvigorated. As a RUMPer and one of the former voices vehemently against the PP, I also want want to extend early congratulations to the PP for doing so well and extend a hand for us to work together for the betterment of Talossa! Let's not emulate the US anymore; let us bring about a Talossa where political parties have their differences but are respectful and can find honest compromise for the betterment of all citizens.
edit: minor grammar mess up amongst many!

"In life, only 3 things are certain: Death, taxes, and the RUMP pocket vote." Please define "pocket vote". Would the definition perhaps be "persons who are relatively or completely inactive on Witt and who vote for a particular party"? Would this perhaps then include voters like Corrine de Winter, Cody Ellsworth, Margreta del Abaþ, Koray Yücel, Cari Defiançal, and Satüreu Cunstantì? Just wondering. I think all this shows is that you're campaigning this time to bring in non-Witters while we of the RUMP are not (partially because you guys always complained -- see Dréu's remark above -- that doing so is somehow unfair). PP, your pocket hypocrisy is showing.

Excellent words, Viteu. It is indeed a delight to have almost finished an entire election season without flame wars and American-style nonsense. It makes this Talossan proud.
