This is the man who founded Talossa in 1979 and who left Talossa in August 2005. 99% of you in the Kingdom have never heard the sound of his voice before now. GV

A passionate speech, and it's always nice to hear Talossan spoken. I can only hope, though, that some of his listeners will make the effort to look into the facts for themselves.

I agree with him up to 2:03 when we starts talking about us. But anyway it's definitely interesting, Thanks GV

He seems a nice enough guy. Too bad he's triyng to strike us down by any means necessary. He speaks Talossan very well (not surprisingly, since he invented it), but by the pronunciation table he still has a bit of an accent.

Yeah, he's slipping up on those weird allophonic rules which he himself invented. E

Here are the facts as I see them.
This Kingdom is the original Kingdom of Talossa, founded by Ben Madison whose abdication followed by Louis resulted in John Woolley being elected King. The Republic is an off shoot of the Kingdom, founded by individual Talossans who found the former King irrational, vengeful and dishonest. The two cannot reconcile due to personality clashes with each blaming the other. (you don't post-you stole our stuff, yada yada yada. This is the truth without the fluff. Can't you see were playing Ben's game? Instead of looking for reasons to remain separate lets look for ways to come together. Lets keep Talossa full of different social and political people, parties and ideals. This is Talossa's current and greatest challenge. Who will step forward?

Eloquent words, Baron. I would like to be one of those stepping forward but what is "forward" for bettering relations for both Talossas?

Huzzah for Ben Madison! Even if he disapproves of us having continued after he left, this would never have existed without him. It is too bad things turned out as they did. Yet Talossa really is not the same without a founding in Talossa, and, unless I have missed out on anything by not haunting the forums (I may have to wait until I am dead to do that sort of thing), we still scarcely even have any citizens dwelling in our land. And I was not even around when it was so.

And with the caveat of his stunts as well as his contributions, I echo that sentiment and hope he never darkens the door of Talossa ever again in this age of the world or any other. GV

But on the issue of looking into the facts more generally, what has happened to l'Oracla?

Well then, my esteemed Baron Fritz, which compromise for a possible reunification of the two free Talossas do you have to offer? Last time I asked, the offer was a "return" of the citizens of the Republic, one by one, with the complete immigration procedure and the option of a failure. You must be kidding if you're calling this a serious offer, dear Baron.

I must say that when I saw this thread, I didn't really want to read it. I clicked on it mostly so it would no longer show up for me as being unread.
But I am extremely happy I read it, because the title of the thread belies what is going on in it. This thread is not about Ben Madison, but about Talossa and all those of Talossan heritage, and I'm glad to see that no matter what Ben might do, his Kingdom and Talossan legacy concentrates on itself, knowing that any movement of attention from what we have inherited from him back to him is counter-productive.
We all revere and admire Ben in our own ways. The language and culture that he created is amazing, and we owe him a lot. As with all who part with the Kingdom, we mourn their decision, but respect it. The Kingdom, though, remains and continues, and does its best to live up to all that it can be, not only for ourselves, but to earn or re-earn the respect of all those who came before us, no matter what manifestation of the Talossan culture they may be involved with.
We move forward -- we learn from the past, but we follow the law. We invite all who wish to move forward with us to join us, even those who left this great Kingdom in the past. We are Talossan, and we move forward.
Hooligan

Well said Lord Hooligan. In reply to D.N. Vercaria I say this. I am not the Immigration Minister nor do I have any authority regarding such but if I did I would accept the re-uniting (note I did not say return) of all former Talossans with open arms.....period. I saw Ben up close and saw what he was capable of. Whether you left or he drove you away makes me no difference. I would welcome you back with no pre-conditions.....from either side.
