Azul!
Loyal Talossans and others present!
It is with great pleasure that I announce that I have appointed Gary Cone to be the Kingdom of Talossa's new Prime Minister. The oath was administered to the Right Honourable Gary Cone this morning over the telephone.
The Kingdom of Talossa is in very capable hands, and I am confident in Gary Cone's abilities. With Gary Cone as His Majesty's First Minister, the Kingdom will be guided safely and securely through these turbulent times.
I wish to offer my best wishes to Gary Cone and to thank him on behalf of the Kingdom for accepting this lofty and demading post.
God Save The King!

Congratulations, Mr. Prime Minister! Unlike some, *I* have left the toilet paper and light bulbs right where they belong.

Congratulations (and condolences*), Mr. Prime Minister. Speech! Speech!
Excellent choice, Mr. Regent.
God Save (and Scold) the King!
*because the job is often thankless and exhausting.

It was something of a surprise, although it could have happenned last election as well.
I am under no illusions about how difficult this time will be. We have been decimated by this mass defection, but we must also regularize how we are going to deal with them. The usual 'steely hard firmness' tactics -- i.e. call them 'traitors' and turn our backs -- will not work, especially since people in their camp are holding critical pieces of our shared heritage -- like the Kingdom archive -- hostage. There may be some contention about the names of provinces or institutions or half a hundred other things. There may be some issues over web resources as well. But for now, my concern is to get the Kingdom back together. I regret that my inexperience will cause this process to go slower than it ought to, but I promise you all, it will be done.
We will survive, we will flourish, we will prevail.
Once I go over the list of traditional cabinet positions, I will probably trim them to the functional minimum. Who really DOES anything, other than Immigration and SOS? Hmmm, we probably will need a Defense/War minister.
Ceremonial or silly posts will probably go out the window, at least for this governmental cycle. Although, if Mr. Glafke remains with us, I *may* keep the Minister of Silly Walks in the cabinet.

Excellent proposals Gary!
I must say, I sort of lost my temper about the republic in another post. Name-calling and simply dismissing the republic is not the route to go. I have maintained my cool thoughout this whole crisis, so I guess I am allowed to vent a bit. ;D
We now have a capable Prime Minister- that is you Gary! However, the survival of the Kingdom depends on all of us working together. Talossa is worth fighting for and I know that our beloved Kingdom will flourish once again.
