Dear citizens of Ataturk, Benito, Cézembre, Florencia, Maricopa, Maritiimi-Maxhestic and Vuode,
Talossa consists of seven beautiful provinces. Each one has its own, unique culture. However, not all provinces have been all that active recently. Those Talossans that are active are usually only active at national level. That is a pity, because the provinces have so much to offer.
At the moment, the seven provinces are confronted with a lot of problems. One of those problems is the lack of up-to-date information. The provincial pages on the KoT-site are not regularly updated. A bigger problem is the inactivity of provincial legislative bodies.
The PP will try to change these things. We want to set clear dates for provincial legislative sessions. We want to ensure provincial webpages are kept up to date, and provincial networking is encouraged. Benito is a prime example of what can be done in a province - its citizens are close, its legislature is active and it maintains an active web presence. Three of the four main Benitians behind this achievement are PP members - the other voted PP this election. Imagine what we can do in our other provinces.
PP: bringing progress to the provinces.

I have to admit, this was a topic on which I was wrong. Half-wrong, anyway. *grins*
See, I don't think we should try to force individual citizens to be massively active in their provinces. But the PP, at a provincial level, think provincial governments should encourage an accountable system - with clear legislative terms, with clear routes towards democratic recourse, and so on.
We Cezembrians do talk a lot; and so do Florencians, though pre-Talossan relationships help there. But the best example of close provincial relationships and effective legislature is Benito - and though I don't necessarily think the solution for every province is to have an independent website or forum (though any individual province may decide to), certainly the fact that the Benitian forum is active and has a Hopper, and its page is up to date, do a lot for the appeal of the province.
In Cézembre and Benito the PP is likely to achieve majorities, and in Cézembre, Tycho will lead efforts to make the province more active. In Ataturk, especially, we will have a strong minority, and will contribute to making that fair province more active, encouraging stronger local relationships and so on. And so on with the other provinces (barring, one suspects, Florencia).
I hope Talossans of all stripes will agree that provincial friendships, noble constitutions and active legislature are all good aims, and will work with Progressive Party members at a provincial level to see our provinces bloom.
Thanks Tycho for this post and your energy!
Owen
P.S. Yes, I admitted I was wrong about something, get over it already.
