Also, the title should be "The Talossan Government Transparency Act."

Why was the line about posting the report to Witt removed? I think that's a very good thing.

Why was the line about posting the report to Witt removed? I think that's a very good thing. Because that would be tantamount to the USA saying that the "State of the Union" doesn't count unless it's posted in the New York Times. Wittenburg is a private board. The Seneschal can just as easily post an email to all of us.

Why was the line about posting the report to Witt removed? I think that's a very good thing. What if there was a technical reason why Witt couldn't be used? If the requirement is to provide all citizens with a report, then all citizens are required to receive the report. It would likely be done on Witt, but could be done via e-mail just the same. Also could be handy if the PM needs to distribute the report via blackberry or something like that.

I don't favor the report being posted only on Witt. I favor it being emailed and posted on Witt. By posting on Witt, it will initiate a discussion, and feedback, in a public forum. I think that's a good thing, and a unique feature available to our nation. That simply could not happen in the U.S., for logistical reasons.
However, Mick's point and analogy are correct, and I won't press this point further. However, I hope that the PM will voluntarily post reports in Witt, in the spirit of discussion.

Bi-monthly actually means both, in an odd quirk of the language. I would suggest being more specific, such as "once every two months."

I favor "once every two months." Whatever the consensus, we will need to assure that both references in the "THEREFORE" paragraph are made to match. Presently, only the first reference is modified.

Bi-monthly actually means both, in an odd quirk of the language. Now, that I did not know. Anyway, if this bill is to be named 'The government transparancy act' shouldnt the report include information from cabinet ministers also? In it's current form, it is more of a 'Prime Minister Transparancy Act'. I think this should be modified slightly to: THEREFORE, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Talossa is directed to issue a bi-monthly report once per month, detailing actions taken by his or her office and including summary reports written by his appointed Ministers. Just an idea.

Yeah, I was just thinking it would tke a slight load off of the PM, who I imagine is already stretched pretty thin to start with. Ie: the ministers submit reports of a paragraph or twos length to the PM, then he copies and pastes it into a final report to be released.

It is up to the PM to delegate to his Ministers as he needs, and I would hope that the he would see to it that his Ministers supply him with this information. I don't know that the bill needs to stipulate the method by which the report is gathered and constructed, rather, leaving it up to the PM allows him to use his Ministers however much or little he desires. He may wish to gather statements from the Ministers, and then paraphrase them in a general narrative of his own writing.

Given the precedence of 28RZ15 and 35RZ2, it is clear Witt can be included in Bills. Stating that one of the forms of media that the report shall be provided through shall be Witt does not infringe the private status of Witt, nor is it tantamount to saying it's like limiting US business to the NYT. Well, unless I missed the bit where Congress meets and votes primarily through the letters page of the NYT...What a foolish comparison.
