OK. I want to find out my Talossan name. Jack I know is Iac. But Fenton is, according to Ancestry.com, "Fen=Marsh"+"Ton=Enclosure". So that's like a marshy field. Now, apparently, marsh is mara and enclosure is vercaria in Talossan. So would my last name be something like Maraveracaret?

Cavía is actually enclosure.
I would think something along the lines of Cavíamara or Mara'axhair

I also get this: FENTON Gender: Masculine Usage: English Pronounced: FEN-tun [key] From a surname which was originally taken from a place name meaning "marsh town" in Old English.
That would be "Maraorasch"

Maraorasch it is then.
Now how would I go about changing my name? Would I just change it or should I tell everyone and the Chancery?

The process is pretty much just that, yep; but of course you are not even a citizen yet, so adopting a Talossan name is a trifle premature....

We have an established suffix meaning "town," which is - buerg. It's generally preferable to use productive affixes when they're available rather than smooshing independent words together. So I would say Marabuerg is better than Maraorasch. But like Lord Hooligan said, the Chancery only records Talossan names of citizens, so this is just looking ahead.

I do apologise for jumping the gun. I have a very bad habit. And Marabuerg I like more so I shall use that. Meirci.

An introduction should happen soon, but this thread is starting to turn into one, which is good for me.
