All handouts will be made available in this thread. I am trying out a service called "xdrive," which offers a large volume of free storage; if that doesn't work, I'll use something else. Direct links to downloads will be posted here... please collect and read them before the next class after which they are posted; I will make sure to post them generally the day after class, so as to allow you sufficient time to read them.
Please let me know if there are any problems at all with getting a handout. All handouts and copies are provided for educational purposes only, and it is believed that their use in this manner falls under the fair use exception to copyright law.
EDIT: XDrive, created by AOL, actually is pretty lousy. Handouts will be made available on Box.net instead.

Here is an online folder with a variety of pictures of Hemingway, so you can get an idea of how he looked. The last time I showed some of the younger ones, a girl of my acquaintance exclaimed with great surprise, "Holy s***, he used to be hot!" Then, of course, he became very grizzled.

Here is a copy of the Kansas City Star stylesheet, which you will need when you get Lecture 2.

Here are a collection of scholarly papers on Hemingway. You will need these during the course as you are told during lectures or on this board; don't worry about reading them until that time.
