As a member of the House of Commons, I hereby call an election of a new Premier.
ALL Candidates who wish to run for election as Premier MUST make their intention know publicly on the Witt or in this Thread BEFORE Wednesday 13th of September 2006. No Candidate who registers him/herself for election after this time will be allowed to enter into the election.
Elections will then take place from the 13th until a candidate obtains a majority vote. Voting will take place in a thread on the Province’s Board as to ensure a Fair, Free election.
The Candidate who at the end of this period or the majority will be elected Premier.
Let the Election Begin

The deadline has now passed and no further candidates will be considered in the elections. Doesn't the deadline expire at midnight tonight TST? I'm in the same time zone that determines Talossan Time, unless I'm incorrect (in which case, I apologize). Just wondering.

In the interests of the Organic Law, let me put in a word here. The House of Commons has 32 seats. Of those, the CLP won 16, and assigned all 16 to Brad Holmes, who is also the Constable. The RUMP won 16 seats, and assigned 6 to Xhorxh Ûnamînd and 5 each to Matáiwos Nanamavéu and George Hargreaves. Nobody (except a majority of the seats in the House of Commons) has any authority to set any kind of deadline or limitation on voting in the House of Commons. The Organic Law rules, and it says: Each provincial parliament, once elected, shall choose by majority vote of its seats the rules under which the parliament shall operate. These rules are subject to review by the Uppermost Cort to guarantee that they do not violate the rights of voters in the province concerned. Each provincial parliament, once elected, shall choose by majority vote of its seats an executive officer or Premier (to be given such titles as the provincial parliament shall determine) analogous to the federal Prime Minister. None of that has happened in Atatürk. “A majority vote of its seats” would be 17, and the only way 17 votes can be found is for at least one of the other three members to vote with Brad. (The OrgLaw doesn't say “a majority of the votes cast” or anything like that.) Brad by himself isn’t a majority; Xhorxh, George, and Matáiwos all together aren't a majority. Nothing the House of Commons does has any legal effect unless and until a majority chooses rules; no "election" of a Premier has any legal effect unless and until a majority elects him. No majority means no rules, no election, no Premier. — John Woolley, UrN, friendly observer

There's nothing in the law about how to break ties, no. Something to consider when we're rewriting (hint, hint) the OrgLaw's provisions regarding Provinces.
