Azul from the Immigration Day festivities at Napoleon's!
Turnout was light, given the 6 degree temperatures and the Minnesota Vikings game (every red-blooded Talossan is cheering for the Vikings to lose!) which drove down turnout. Also, Fritz and I seemed to expect the other to make sure everybody knew about it. (Better organization next time, I swear...) Wes Erni would have been here too, but had made prior plans and couldn't get out of them at short notice. As for Ián Metáiriâ, he was A.W.O.L.
But there were five Talossans involved, four in person and one by telephone. Fritz, Amy, Ben, and Geoff Toumayan voted in the national election (pictures were taken, and will be online in a couple of days), and Dr. Greg Rajala, a prospective who is a professor at Marquette University, chatted with us by phone. Expect to see him on Witt in the next few days.
A game of Stratego was played (Fritz won, I lost) and lots of Talossan conversation was had. We discussed the question of which book to work on first in terms of putting our books back online, and I think I'll run a Wittenberg poll to see what you all choose.
It was a good (if blisteringly cold) day for Talossa! And we will definitely have better turnout next time when everybody realizes it's happening.

"Wes Erni would have been here too, but had made prior plans and couldn't get out of them at short notice."
Short notice? Wasn't he informed about this event some time ago, like at one of our weekly meetings?
"As for Ián Metáiriâ, he was A.W.O.L."
Actually, I had informed Ramses by e-mail during the week that I may not make it due to similar "prior plans" (it was a busy weekend), and that was, indeed, the case.
As it (apparently) turned out, though, not too bad for starters.
