www.execpc.com/~talossa/talflag.gifAzul! Her Majesty and I stopped in yesterday at Eder Flag Manufacturing, a Greater-Talossan-Area manufacturer of flags. Eder is the company that made Talossa's first two "official" national flags, back in the early 1980s. Anyhow, we were inquiring about the possibility of getting desktop Talossan flags manufactured, the kind about 4x6" that are attached to the plastic flagpole and base, that stand about 8" tall. It's not cheap, but it could be done. The minimum order is 125 flags and it would cost us $487.50. 125 flags would keep us going for a while, and depending on who raised the money for it, we could either sell them at cost or treat it all as a donation for the cause, and provide "free" flags to all citizens and new immigrants. Fritz and I had discussed this a while back, and some of them would definitely be available for sale at Napoleon's. Having a few of them around at the store would also be a good conversation piece/entrée to Talossa for visitors. So the big questions are, is it worth raising $487.50 to get 125 Talossan flags; and can we do it? Ben#nosmileys

I had looked into the possibilty of getting a large Talossan flag made for myself. I love the idea of the tabletop flags. I would be willing to contribute financially in whatever way I am able- which may not be all that much! Making the flags available at cost seems to make the most sense to me. If we are to give an item out to new citizens, I always felt we should design an official certificate of citizenship, which would be much more cost efficient. Not that I am opposed to giving out free flags, I just want to make sure that we would be able to sustain this in the long term.

This brings us back to the real need for a Talossan bank account and treasuer. Having an auction at Talossa Fest would help raise funds, as would donations and entry fee's when playing in this summer various board game competitions. There is so much that could be done to promote the Kingdom and it's events with a little funding. A desk flag is a great idea, and so are certificates of membership, passports, etc. etc. I am currently talking with my oldest son about making a brief video. maybe with Stand Tall Talossans playing in the background, to show interested parties who want to know more about Talossa, how to join, what it is all about, etc. The King, of course, would be the primary orator, but others could appear as well. I am afraid to approach Ben about this. I think I am driving him nuts with all my ideas. Anyway, just another thought in addition to the desk top flags.

There is a video already available which does provide a tour and an introduction to Talossa. Unfortunately, some of the key players in this video have since left Talossa. It may be a worthwhile project to make a new video in the future.

A desk flag is a great idea, and so are certificates of membership, passports, etc. etc. Raising money by registering political parties in elections is another idea. This election I've decided not to charge for registration, but that's an idea, especially if we go over to a system where the SoS routinely mails out ballots to all citizens. > I am currently talking with my oldest son about making a brief video. maybe with Stand Tall Talossans playing in the background, to show interested parties who want to know more about Talossa, how to join, what it is all about, etc. The King, of course, would be the primary orator, but others could appear as well. As citizen Cantaloûr mentioned, there is a half-hour video. The only person featured prominently in the video who left, was ex-PM Ragsdale. The video is quite good, it's a tour of Talossa's provinces and some information on history, etc. I wonder if this can be put on DVD somehow? Traitor Furxheir was supposed to do that, but was too busy setting up his own fake country. I like the idea of including something about how to join. I don't know how much it would cost to copy DVDs for distribution though. > I am afraid to approach Ben about this. I think I am driving him nuts with all my ideas. Ben
