Worthless? Oh, how mistaken can one be? Hooligan The young gentleman from Vuode does have a point, if one considers his age. What is he going to do with 20 pints of beer?

The young gentleman from Vuode does have a point, if one considers his age. What is he going to do with 20 pints of beer? Why, exchange them for 40 pints of root beer, of course! (In fact, I will happily volunteer to make the exchange!) ...Or for whatever else people can get for the price of 20 pints of beer anywhere in the world. We're talking value here, not specific commodity. Although our currency is based on beer, a Lou buys a lou worth of anything, just like a dollar (even though the the U.S. has foolishly based their currency on something other than beer) will buy a dollar worth of anything (and is not limited to being exchanged only for their specific chosen currency base...if they still have one). Get this discussion out of my legislation thread!
I hereby request that this bill be Clarked for the next vote, after no-biz is over, in the hopes it will stop the Seneschal from going off on a speech about how wonderful the system of exchange and monies he developed is going to be (although by all accounts he and His Majesty are making a concerted attempt to drink our national treasury)!

It was all a beer-inspired evil plot to get you to Clark the bill.
Success!
Now, ahem, let's get the House Law stuff into and out of the Hopper, people!

Ah. I see. So our currency, really, should be one of the most highly prized in the world. It's based on the price of a pint.

Hooligan There still remains our previously proposed version of amendments to the House Law: talossa.proboards32.com/index.cgi?board=hopper&action=display&thread=1179803226&page=1I will take another look at it and the debates on the topic, which were considerable, and reintroduce it as a new bill.

I really like this bill. I think that Talossa could be a force for justice in an organization that far too often has failed to live up to the dreams and the promises of its inception in 1945. By the way, V-that is a great signature...I love daft punk!!

The Hopper, just to clarify, is open for all citizens, legislators or not, to comment on draft legislation. All are welcome in the Hopper. The way the Hopper should work is that a sitting member of the Ziu begins each thread on this board with the posting of a finished piece of draft legislation. Anyone in the nation may then comment upon the proposal as it sits here for the mandatory time before the author can choose to Clark it.

Two things, while Lord Hooligan is right, an occasional thread drift here (minor) is okay, a side comment is probably fine. But entire post completely irrelevent aren't necessary.
Onto the bill, I do not know where I stand on this. I have stated I am a staunch isolationist. Trying to get into the UN might very well bring the US down on us... or atleast put us on some American government watchdog list

Well, we have some time now to discuss this some more if necessary.
S:reu Toctvichteir, I do not think this bill would violate a policy of isolationism. Many nations are functionally isolationist while still being members of the UN, since there is very little burden automatically placed on them to participate.
I also don't think we need to worry about the US locking us down or anything... we haven't broken any of those laws they think apply to us. In their misguided eyes, we are just a club with delusions of grandeur. And we are probably on government watchdog lists already, since we discuss politics. Carnivore, the FBI machine hooked into the backbone of the Web in the US, flags items which contain keywords, and among those keywords are probably words we have used. Others are things like "bomb" or "Al Quaida" or "President".

Just a question: Will the Secretary of State or Minister of Foreign Affairs be delivering this to the UN?
