I'm using my 600th Witt post to officially announce that King John is now a full CÚG member and continues to be the CÚG's patron; and that Aspra Laira and Mataiwos Vürinalt have been accepted as new CÚG members and, according to the new rules established in the recently approved amendments to the CÚG charter, will go through a 6-month probatory period before being able to become full members. This will obviously not keep them from actively participating in our activities.

Thank you for accepting me into the CÚG! I am very honored to be a part of this organization. I will now brush up on my linguistic skills, sadly they have become dusty lately.
Congratulations on your 600th post, Xhorxh! Will you celebrate? Chinese New Year to boot! However, I suppose if you're Catholic, Chinese New Year didn't fall at a good time to celebrate (it being lent and all). Either way, felicitaziuns!

I'm an Agnostic, but have good friends from all religions. Welcome aboard, Aspra!
BTW, I'm ready to help with any university stuff you need. :-)

Congratulations to the new members! With Dréu, it looks like we're up to nine members now. All three of the new additions have written and/or translated substantial texts in Talossan, and have shown serious interest in and taken significant steps toward learning the language. In addition, D:na Laira has a graduate degree in linguistics. This helps us establish customary criteria for admitting future members.

This would be a great way to involve both instiutions in a partnered program. It'd also make it easily assesible to both members and visitors to the forum. Just a thought.

I'd be glad to volunteer to help set this up with the Universtiy. I've already been thinking of some plans for a basic conversational Talossan course, and if the CUG can be the patron and teach it, the University could host it and we can spark some life into the University and, as the Home Affairs shadow conselor, an easy way for everyday Talossans to learn Talossan. I'd be glad to talk to somebody and help coordinate this.

That gives us about a month of planning. I'd really like to see your ideas for the syllabus. Aspra Laira

I would like to coördinate this with members of both the CÚG and l'Üniversità in order to get this as good as we possibly can. S:da Laira, let's try to keep in touch about this as it becomes more and more a reality! ~Vürinalt~

Vüri:
I still have those lessons... I just don't think they're so great. I believe Xhorxh has some stuff ready to go.
As for my vision for the CUG:
I want to see the Talossan language moving forward in a certain direction. Instead of just making up words we should pick one or two languages of the ones we already draw from (Occitan, Provençal, Sardinian, Berber, North African Latin).

Yes, I've been making some new lesson plans because the old ones were quite childish. Anyways, I agree with the other statement, I think we should draw from North African Latin and perhaps some loanwords from the Berber languages themselves.

I must disagree. I think North African Latin and Sardinian are the way to go.

I'd really like the CÚG to approve of the language course before it is offered. We'll be in touch. Aspra Laira
